Looking back at his vague attempt to lose a second in the second stage, it wasn't well executed.

They cross the line at a speed of ca. 60 km/h, which is the equivalent of 16,666... m/s. So if you want to lose a second you should leave a gap of ca. 20 m. Someone who's just a few meters behind still gets the same time.

Important stage today. I hope today doesn't give more confirmation that UAE f***** up the team selection by bringing too much people (Almeida, and especially Ayuso) in the team that aren't eager to work for the king and are riding for their own GC. Yates did his part Sunday. I think it will be too much if UAE tries to keep 4 men high in GC and not letting them work.

Especially on these long rolling climbs you need domestiques to set a high pace to reduce the group to a small number. If the race isn't hard enough, I think it will be very hard to drop Jonas and a big opportunity will be wasted.

I fear this stage for two reasons:
1 - This is not hard enough and don't invite attacks if there is a strong headwind for a big part of the climb.
2 - Slovenia lost to Portugal and Pogacar is depressed and tired due to spend his night until 23h30 just to see Slovenia losing.

Wish i knew what Uae and Pogacar intentions was today then it would be much clearer. I can even see the break go as everyone will once again look to UAE and noone wanne pull the peleton close for Pog to beat everyone like Pidcock said noone in their right mind will so everyone will look to uae. Wonder what Pogacar and they have of intentions today, I can even see the break go in if they are as reluctant as they have been up untill now to get the jersey?(beacuse of of the TT?) its very open today for me or is that stupid? I have no idea about today:tearsofjoy:

yeah, so far it doesn't look too much like Visma are too keen to do the work, maybe that changes with the bigger climb coming up today tho.

I think they made the pre-selection in winter times when it looked like Visma needed to do all the work as defending champs and Pogi was taking the Giro start money, so UAE could bring 4 GC guys because it was on Visma to make the race hard. Then if Pogi turned out to be stronger than Vingo, he would also be significantly stronger than his TMs and that ususally settles most debates in the team bus.

Maybe they manage to keep 3 guys in the GC in week 3 and they and Bora tests the living daylight out of Visma's mountain doms.
