The TT will be funny to see his true level in this discipline. He is a top3 time triallist when the speed is lower than 50 km/h, however this TT will be over 50 km/h. I expect a 40 seconds loss to Remco.
The most important thing is how much he can gain on jonas, remco is not a threatThe TT will be funny to see his true level in this discipline. He is a top3 time triallist when the speed is lower than 50 km/h, however this TT will be over 50 km/h. I expect a 40 seconds loss to Remco.
It will be interesting how he goes in the TT compared to Remco. I notice UAE seem to have invested a lot in bike improvements - marginal gains. Pog’s TT bike is also leading edge now. Interested what his might mean. The TT will be funny to see his true level in this discipline. He is a top3 time triallist when the speed is lower than 50 km/h, however this TT will be over 50 km/h. I’d like to hear moreI have nothing to say. Just wanted y'all to know this.
Jonas is a mutant. He can surprise us even if logic says he will lose probably 30 seconds to PogacarThe most important thing is how much he can gain on jonas, remco is not a threat

You already know what it mean. He won vs Ganna in the Giro TT. I would not be suprised if he even beats Evenpoel. So strong he has become where noone can stay on his wheel for more than 5-600 meter without blowing up no matter where and no matter who I wouldnt be shocked thats all, atleast keep it around 20 + - would be impressive and good if Evenpoel is flying. Big fan of what UAE and Pogacar did today, mighty impressive.
But tour is not in the bag yet. This advantage is really low. Imo they need to have Almeida or Ayuso attack in next mountain stages, to make Vingegaard or Remco work. Then Pog to sprint for bonus seconds.
Ayuso to do a Cunego confirmed?Utilizing Ayuso and Almeida to attack Vingo or Remco makes sense as long as they are close in the GC. Maybe in the massif central? After the TT I'm expecting Remco to be Pog's closest GC rival with other guys considerably further back (but Ayuso and Almeida should definitely still be among the podium contenders).
We've got an intense first few weeks, an ITT at the end of the first week, and then indeed the last 7 days are the toughest. They could've maybe put 1 other real mountain stage as stage 10 or something. Besides that it's pretty good. Good that they started so early with mountains, means you need to be good for 3 weeks straight. This Tour is so back loaded, it was really made for another Vingegaard's win. Jesus Christ! 10 stages to have a proper mountain stage again.
If he does a good TT, he will have a 1 minute+ lead. Then the next mountain stage is stage 11, meaning he likely won’t make attacks in the transition/hilly stages, unless he sees a great opportunity.
If his lead after stage 11 is still over 1 minute. He may then just ride defensively. Or may try an attack that kills off the race and then react to his rivals.
I don’t think he’ll try anything daft.
Agree I think UAE might control that stage for Pogacar to take the bonus and go for the stage there. That stage also suits Evenpoe so quickstep might also chip in.Stage 11 is suitable for him. No flat sections, climb short and tough, bonuses. It's also a difficult stage as overall with 4350m altitude gain for +200kms. It would be silly, at least, to try nothing.
He almost crashed... Jesus Christ!
Stage 11 lacks a real start. It's too easy IMHO but Pogacar can make differences there, specially if he attacks with 33 km to the finish.
Pas de Peyrol, accodring to the profile DevilsElbow posted, has 2k at 12+% at the end of it, that sounds hard enough to me to make a difference, especially if they go as hard as possible over the cat2 before it. He should get away never to be seen again. I don't think he needs much more than an initial 10-15 seconds, maybe even less if say only Remco can follow him, because he'll loose to him on the descend. And afte that it's two short climbs, one at about 8% and the other shallow. Suits him rather well I'd say. So even if he doesn't gain a lot of time, he'd surely be favourite to win the stage imo if UAE controlls the day.
Please stop, Remco will be nowhere when Pogacar attacks. Probably 30 seconds behind!Dream attack by Teddy and Remco in the Massif Central? It looks like a perfect place for a 30+ km attack.

But in what world will Remco drop Vingegaard?Or not. Cooperation with Remco could profit Teddy if they can distance Vingo for good! I think it will be a 3 horse race (at least until the Pyrenees) and some alliances will make sense.
