When I saw him cooked and they caught him, I think Remco could have left him on the final climb, but he didn't dare.

In Liège, I find it hard to see them letting him fall if they couldn't do it today, when he was completely cooked.

He could lose Liège in the sprint, but I don´tto believe he's worse off than he was today. Today, the post-PR effect was too much, even for Pog. If VDP, who has PR experience, felt it, it was predictable; that's why I didn't want him to do the Amstel or FW.
There was underestimating what PR is.

He should be better in Liège, although he won't be in the form he was last year, coming off the altitude and Catalunya, which was a quality training session. But he shouldn't be as cooked as he was today, either.

Listening to the move with la, Hincapie, and bruyneel. Little mention of P-R in the legs until later in the podcast before bruyneel finally considered it and they came around. Hincapie said there’s a study where it’s proven the muscle attrition from P-R is greater than a marathon. They don’t think he bonked. Hincapie actually suggested the field is leveling up to pogi (whaaaaa???). Hahahahw. Come on guys let’s not let this show slip to vanilla.

I am quite conflicted on whether he will be better in lbl than today. On one hand you are right, the pr roubaix effect will be less relevant, on the other hand he will have two more hard races in his legs and the period in which he'll be in top shape will extend one more week. Probably he will be at a similar level, but lbl is slightly better for his characteristics. Unfortunately the same is true for remco. To win lbl he has to race smartly (finally I would add, because in amstel he was quite stupid). If he sees he can't drop remco comfortably he has to relay with him, not waste any energy and go for the sprint

Bruyneel also says Pogi probably not riding FW (he doesn't have inside information) and expects him to be the easy favorite for LBL. It took him all the way to the end of the podcast to come to his senses about the post P-R problems riders experience. Says they can't really ride for three days and it shows.

He BONKED at the tour. That's not at all what happened today.

But I agree, Pogi should be able to deliver LBL with some actual tactics this time around.

This isn't the first time he's been unable to decipher Pogacar. In 2022, he predicted he had nothing to do in Flanders.
They've been obsessed with the Tour since January; it makes sense that he can't analyze a rider like that.
