I have been following Pogacar's training camp and he is alone there, at least I didn't see any ride with Almeida, Soler, Sivakov, Narvaez, etc. All riders are expected to race the Tour
But now it was McNultys job to do that...He didn't perform as expected. For me, a rider like Sivakov needs to be as good as McNulty and launch Pogacar. Of course it wasn't needed because Pogacar is so superior that he can just destroy everyone without leaving the saddle.
McNulty didn't do anything... he isn't a team playerBut now it was McNultys job to do that...
Just a weird take. Anyway.
Your Roglic is not going well in the Giro. What's going on?
So Finestre is the day eh?The usual.
So Finestre is the day eh?
No surprise to be honest. Del Toro couldn't drop Wout so he wasn't great. Wout weighs almost 80 kg.I just saw that Pogacar's time on Pinzuto was 29 secs faster than van Aert and del Torro.
Pogacar - 4 min 15 secs
van Aert - 4 min 44 secs
Insanity...
I don't get it. Just 18 days? Vingegaard is amost a full month at altitude and Pogacar doesn't even stay 3 weeks.View: https://x.com/StphaneBoury/status/1924757541449326923
Pog has finished his training camp in sierra nevada, today he did the recon of the mountain TT
He probably plans to reach his peak with a 10 day block in the Alps after the Dauphine but I agree that 18 days is not that much.I don't get it. Just 18 days? Vingegaard is amost a full month at altitude and Pogacar doesn't even stay 3 weeks.
I was thinking the same thing, I expected him to stay a bit longer, but also last year he did almost 3 weeks in sierra (based on some articles) so not even 3 weeks, just like this year. His coach must believe this is the best for him. Another possibility is that in these days he will do other recons of other mountain stages at high altitude, which is pretty much the same as training in sierraI don't get it. Just 18 days? Don't forget he was training some days at altitude in April (preparation for the Giro) so he did his second training camp in June. This is his first altitude training camp in 2025.I was thinking the same thing, I expected him to stay a bit longer, but also last year he did almost 3 weeks in sierra (based on some articles) so not even 3 weeks, just like this year. last year he was in sierra almost 3 weeks in april. He went there just after catalunya to prepare for giro. Then he did 2 weeks in june at isola 2000 before the tour. So this year he will do pretty much the same amount of altitude. Almost 3 weeks in sierra (in may instead of april) and then isola in June. But considering he hasn't done the giro this year I agree with you, I was expecting him to do a few more days in sierraDon't forget he was training some days at altitude in April (preparation for the Giro) so he did his second training camp in June. Maybe his genetics are so good that he doesn't need a week to acclimatizationlast year he was in sierra almost 3 weeks in april. He went there just after catalunya to prepare for giro. they will have some data suggesting this amount of altitude is optimal for him. In these next days he will probably do other recons like the loze stage and la plagne stage that are at high altitude and will be decisive for the tourMaybe his genetics are so good that he doesn't need a week to acclimatization
But last year, he didn't have time to train more. It's the same training he did after the Giro.
True, but maybe also this year, remember that he had a big spring campaign and in liege he was already in great shape. He just needs to adjust his training a bit to long climbsBut last year, he didn't have time to train more.
