No surprise to be honest. Del Toro couldn't drop Wout so he wasn't great. Wout weighs almost 80 kg.

I was thinking the same thing, I expected him to stay a bit longer, but also last year he did almost 3 weeks in sierra (based on some articles) so not even 3 weeks, just like this year. His coach must believe this is the best for him. Another possibility is that in these days he will do other recons of other mountain stages at high altitude, which is pretty much the same as training in sierra

Don't forget he was training some days at altitude in April (preparation for the Giro) so he did his second training camp in June. This is his first altitude training camp in 2025.

last year he was in sierra almost 3 weeks in april. He went there just after catalunya to prepare for giro. Then he did 2 weeks in june at isola 2000 before the tour. So this year he will do pretty much the same amount of altitude. Almost 3 weeks in sierra (in may instead of april) and then isola in June. But considering he hasn't done the giro this year I agree with you, I was expecting him to do a few more days in sierra

Maybe his genetics are so good that he doesn't need a week to acclimatization

they will have some data suggesting this amount of altitude is optimal for him. In these next days he will probably do other recons like the loze stage and la plagne stage that are at high altitude and will be decisive for the tour
