I was hoping for this. It's the best chance he'll ever get to win a world title ITT. It's a rather tough course in the medium mountains, although there are no major climbs, it's tough enough to give him a chance.

Yes, it's true. This course definitely gives him much better chances vs Evenepoel than typical flat/rolling WC courses. It should be an interesting TT.

I think so too. Remco has been at altitude again after the Tour hasn't he? So I think they're both training pretty hard for the world champs.

I don't know if I agree with you. He is not as good as Remco (and will never be in normal circunstances) in flat TTs or even TTs they go over 49-50 kph however if we look to 2017 and 2018, the WCTT courses had a decent climb there.
I wouldn't say Pogacar wasn't a favorite in those TTs.

He will never reach his true potential because he doesn't really train them consistently. Unless he is preparing the Tour.
However, even if he starts doing way more TT training, I don't think he can reach Remco's level.

But he still isn't reliable enough. Not due to lack of effort but lack of quality.

I wonder if Pogacar will ever be bothered by things like this. That they're working harder for Ayuso than the overall leader. Considering Ayuso's behavior, they've worked harder for him to win two stages in a breakaway than Ayuso worked for Pogacar in the Tour


This situation is worrying for the future. Other young cyclists could follow Ayuso's lead, and they're also rewarded for not helping the team. It's all surreal in this team.
