Agree. I think Pog debunked his bad reputation in the heat in the last two TdFs which were hot.

Pogacar crushed the competition on a super hot stage finishing in Hautacam and was super strong during hot days of Tour 2024 as well. If anything, I would say his performance in cold conditions (relative to his rivals) isn't that impressive anymore.

His most recent performances in the cold/wet conditions in the Tour happened when he was slightly sick/had that knee issue though. In Fleche this year in the rain, he still crushed his rivals (but that was just a 500 meter max effort).

Pogi focussing on himself while his fans can only think about Evenepoel
Yes, I love to read those idiot interviews.

The man has a hugeeee ego, we have to say that.

He will never be in Pogacar's league. He is not going to be a better belgium athlete than Merckx.
So instead of saying a lot of crap, why doesn't he win just ONE TDF before?

Ah yes, I forgot, it is Evenepoel who pays to be interviewed

It's the other way around. Pogacar is the rider to beat, fans of other riders are focused on him.
You only have to look at the clinic thread; it's full of fans of other riders obsessed with him. If fheri favorite riderd were winning the same, they'd be happy.

Pogacar's fans, in any case, are more focused on MVDP or Vingegaard.
When a Pogacar fan thinks about the Tour, the logical thing to think about is Vingegaard.
By the way, Remco first has to beat Vingegaard. It's as if Vineggaard doesn't exist.

He can definitely do it, but I believe if he does it the next year he will not even do one GT 😂.. he will be absolutely digusted by GTs
I think if he wins wc in canada this season which will make him a 3 time world champion, he should then try to win all 3 grand tours the next year and skip wc. 2028 is Olympic year so it’s not feasible. imo winning all 3 grand tours in the same season will undoubtedly make him the greatest in history. It has more worth than winning a 4th wc. But if he waits on year after year to do it he might surpass his best years and stronger riders might appear

Pogi wants to win all monuments too, all five of them the same year.

Imo, Pogačar will just keep riding the WC until there is a route where he can’t win. So, I can’t see him riding the 3 Grand Tours in the same year until 2029.

A lot rides on MSR and PR this year in terms of mapping out a potential future schedule.

For the sake of this exercise I have him winning both this year but not riding Vuelta leading to:

2027 - Spring Monuments-Tour-WC-Vuelta-Lombardia. The August super worlds allows him to target the Worlds on a great course I’m for him then ride La Vuelta afterwards.

2028 - Spring Monuments-Giro-Olympics-Vuelta-WC. If he skips the Tour everyone else will heavily target it leaving the Giro as an easy procession allowing some monuments to be targeted first. Big focus would be his final chance to win Olympic Gold and then possibly Vuelta with the worlds course potentially the least suited to him since 2023.

2029 - Skip the one dayers except maybe LBL and take a glorious swing at the mythical Giro-Tour-Vuelta Grand Tour treble.

The next one is in Sallanches, and it's the one Hinault won. It's too symbolic World Championship to not be a priority. But that World Championship is after the Tour and before the Vuelta, so he could do the Vuelta.

Maybe so. But I think he can still be impressive when it’s cold. I think it was pretty cold when he won the Queen stage at Livigno in the 2024 Giro - overhauling Quintana in the final. Sure that field was weak and not 2014 level Quintana but still.

Based upon what I could find it was 6-10C for most of that stage - finishing at well over 2,000 metres altitude. So I think it’s now safe to say Pogacar doesn’t really have any weaknesses based upon heat / cold … or altitude. But as we keep saying he is 27 now so not sure how long his body can hold this stratospheric level.

That altitude related problem is such a myth. Every single time he got dropped or had issues, it was below 2000m
