Seixas is Pogi's threat

I know what you mean in terms of age, te future etc, but for seixas to even reach jv level is still a good way to go and would be a huge success for him (imagine jv's carrer in a pog-less world..). My point is, jv is so far ahead of the rest that it's still years before anyone surpasses jonas as pogs main gt rival - i could even see jonas take the gt throne again in his early 30s as it's not certain pog will aim for gts longer than jv

I am talking in the future, not this year. But I'm curious to see next year though.

Seixas really doesn't have much room for improvement. Yes, he will get somewhat better with age and can work on explosiveness/sprint but that's it. The guy has been training like a seasoned pro for years, no holes to fill or improve that way

This winter seixas has improved like no one else in the history of the sport as of my knowledge. In faune ardeche his performances were exceptional( he put 2 minutes on a relaying group of jorgenson, Lenny martinez & Jan chiristen after attacking 45 km from the finish + what he did at strade. His level already is the same to vingegaard/ has reached vingegaards level imo. It’s scary if he still improves before the tour. I would say he has more potential to scare pogacar for the tour atm than vingegaard.

Too soon to tell he is at the same level of Vingegaard. But next year, this can change for sure.

It’s not just the eye test, the numbers speak for themselves. 7.4w/kg for 16 minutes with 40km still to go + 330 watts for 80 kms at strade( what pog averaged in 2024&2025 strade)🥶 seixas a kilo or 2 less than pog

Yeah the guy who was top 2 in the last 5 TdFs and won the most recent GT is the one who needs to prove he can hang with a 19 year old who *checks notes* won a 1.pro race in February.

The obsession with W/kg calculations from random races got out of hand a long time ago.

But he is right. Seixas still needs to prove his level in the high mountains against Lipo, Del Toro, etc. Until he wins with dominance in the mountains, he's no match for Jonas, let alone Pogacar.
I don’t know whats wrong in admitting someone’s greatness/potential especially when he is performing at such a young age. He finished more than a minute ahead of pidcock, jorgenson & 2+ minutes ahead of Ben healy on strade & this guys are Liege Bastogne liege materials. Undermining such a performance as a 1.pro performance is weak tbh. If seixas was in Catalonia vingegaard would have a difficult week than what we are seeing atm & I’m sure about that. Everybody will have a clear idea in itzulia.

I really have a feeling MvDP is getting underestimated rn. He won Omloop and E3 with big long attacks and this is a fact. He won 2 stages at T-A and because of MSR everybody is thinking, he is worse than year before. He still crashed there and at E3 i didn't see sign of physical or mental weaknees. He attacked way way way to early and managed to bring him DESPITE headwind and pretty stupid racing from him. I don't see him losing at RVV so easy and am also sure he will try something new.

I like Seixas and am pretty sure he will be big problem for Pogi in like two years. It is also good thing for Pogi, Seixas being so good but so young-so at least French people will stop with doping accusations. I mean you can't say anything against Pog, if there is a teenager who is already having almost same numbers as Tadej.

Nothing wrong, I just think it's too soon. Let's see in Pais Vasco where he stands against a stacked field.

His team looked strong yesterday in E3 Harelbeke.
Morgado looked very good, dropped everyone when he made his attack.
Veermersch also looked good, probably the best domestique possible for this kind of race.
With Bjerg and Politt putting a hard pace, I believe RVV will be a crazy race, probably the fastest ever once again. Other important thing thst benefits Pogacar is the race lenght. It's just brutal this edition has more 10 km and I still think they can get close to the 6h mark.
