The Y1RS was also a super bike and Pogacar wasn't using it until they improved their setup and made the bike only 300g heavier than the V5RS.
Okay but even if the bike is just 5w faster @ 50kph it's worth it. Although I heard it will be lighter than the current one that's fairly heavy

If you are right, this new bike will be a big improvement for the hilly TT in the 2026 TdF. A lighter bike and even faster will just make Pogacar win the TT.

it's no secret he has been testing a new TT bike, apparently it's not a replacement of the current model but a new bike specifically designed for hilly TTs. Pogacar did awful performances (for his standards) in the last 2 hilly TTs (dauphine and WC in 2025) and I have always believed that was due to equipment. For those interested there's a recent GCN video on youtube where they weigh the TT bike of Del Toro and it is close to 9 kg, for reference in another video they show how remco's TT bike is around 7 kg. With this new frame they are probably trying to address this issue

Both have more to do with a bad preparation than due to a bad equipment.
He got sick before Canada and didn't do any hard training in his TT bike. He focused everything on the road race. A normal Tadej smokes Vine, let alone the other belgian who was in front of him (the third place).
When he actually practised on his TT bike (in Isola) he was clearly the second strongest only behind the future GOAT of TTs.

at the tour the tt was not an hilly one. Moreover before Dauphine he has certainly trained on the TT bike. There's a reason they are testing a new tt bike that is clearly lighter and intended for hilly TTs

Are you telling me Pogacar is better on flat TTs compared to hilly TTs?
This guy just crushed everyone in Monaco 2 years ago. He will probably win this year in the Tour and the reason won't be his bike.

"Are you telling me Pogacar is better on flat TTs compared to hilly TT?'" No, I have never said that, I am telling you there's a reason they are testing a new bike for hilly TTs. His result in the flat TT at the tour was much better than the two hilly TTs he has done last year. I also expect pogacar to be better in a hilly TT but recently it has not been the case, that's why they are testing new materials specifically for these races

It has nothing to do with doing bad in hilly TTs. He is probably testing new material because he wants to be the best at everything. So he wants to beat Vingegaard and Remco in the TT. If he wants, he is the best TT rider in the world in hilly terrain. The problem with him is the amount of effort he puts in improving his TT (a lot less than Remco for example).
