Del Toro has a very good chance to win LBL. TBH, outside of Pogi, Evenepoel and Pidcock, can't think of another rider more suitable than him to win LBL at the moment. He will surely win LBL someday.
Yeah but he has to improve his durability though. He is always crap in 250 km races & even couldn’t hold sprinters pace on poggio while mcnulty did after doing the same if not better work on cipressa

Seixas was stronger at SB also Del Toro still never showed anything specual at races 250km+. So why would you as a tem risk going there with Del Toro and with him having 20% to win it, if you can go with a guy where chances are 85%+?

"He will surely", this is some type of posts from the Remco's fanbase.
You excluded 3 riders better than him and all of them still have 4-5 years (2026-2030) at their best. When will Del Toro win LBL, specially with the best ever in hilly classics in his team? Don't forget Seixas and other riders who will eventually step up.

El Pistolero doesn't have doubts, Pogacar is the Goat of cycling.
He just tells what I think, other teams don't have a chance because Pogacar is so much better. Tomorrow, we will probably see a break with Stuyven, Magnus, etc and even if they get a 3' gap until the 2nd Kwaremont, they will be caught. The difference is massive.

He's still 23, has plenty of time. Pogi unlikely to ride past 2030, and in 2027 if he is attempting all 3 GT's he may cede leadeship of LBL to Del Toro. We've got guys like Dan Martin, Fuglsang win LBL in the past. No reason why Del Toro cannot win one.

I still have him 2nd. Let's see how he goes with the GT and Monument count.

Seixas at 19 is more durable though.. I think it’s a genetic thing. Some riders have excellent numbers for 4 hours & they bonk afterwards. Jorgenson is another example and for seixas, I believe he has the durability but I’m not sure if has the recovery to match that in a grand tour.

Ability wise, it's clear Pogacar is the best but he still needs to win more to match Merckx's palmares too.
They rode in different times. You have to assess Mercx against his competition and Pogi against his, Interestingly in the mouments , both were/are up agianst two of the most dominant classics riders in De Vlaemnick and van der Poel.

De Vlaeminck wasn't that dominant. 1 RVV only meanwhile Eric Leman won 3 times.
This is obviously an era with much less level and very few riders were professional. Different era for sure.
