But this is exactly what I expected. Pogacar will not drop MVP on the cobbles. He needs some luck there and play the perfect sprint. He already beated MVP twice last year in a sprint.
Both sprints he won against vdp were special circumstances. At dauphine vdp basically lead them out when he saw the bunch were catching & at the tour stage it was a mini Liege course which was way too hard of climbing for vdp before the sprint with only Gc riders left in the finish. roubaix is different

This is what MVP did today. For some reason, Remxo wasn't distanced for good. MVP worked way less and when he was pulling,he was clearly faking it.
I disagree. He worked less but wasn't fake pulling it. I remember Pogacar grabbing a bite and MVDP setting the pace for 5 minutes. If he was fake pulling Remco would have closed the gap there and then.

There is a lot of online backlash towards Florian Vermeersch because people think he didn't ride for Pogi and just did his own race, especially on the 2nd Kwaremont where instead of leading out Pogi he just stayed at the back conserving energy, what do you guys think about this?

I would say he played a crucial role in the win for pog with the molenberg selection. Leading out on kwaremont wasn’t necessary as we saw already last year that pog can make a selection by his own

I think he rode as a backup. Pogacar goes crazy, if no one works with him, Florian is there to pace the race or prevent any attacks before the Koppenberg.

UAE as a team was pretty mediocre. Bjerg did his part and controlled the breakaway. Politt's leadout was great. Veermersch did his part afterwards and worked prior to the 2nd Kwaremont.
Not sure what the rest of the team was doing. Oliveira crashed early. Never to be seen again. Cosnefroy crashed as well. No clue where Morgado was all race long.

But it doesn't really matter because in the end all they need is one leadout and it's game over as long as Pog is in the race.

Looks like the next thing will be a new category in every race from now on, the WP or "Without Pogi category", which apparently MVDP won today. Per his team "It's difficult to call this a defeat". Will there be a special set of prizes and medals for that? Something like in the NBA they have the "excluding Wilt" category when they talk about various records and stats. I think there is a 50% chance we will have "5 in a row" record and the new King of the monuments, or is it the God of the monuments and someone else will still be the King? I'm sensing this feeling of transcendence, where he will no longer be counted as a participant on equal terms, but the "special category", the "force majeure" for which there is no insurance policy and no strategy. Will people really start ignoring him?

He was by far the strongest today and raced it perfectly.

He could have droped everybody on the second kwaremont but he chose to drop them one by one so that he was not alone and the others could not regroup and work together.

He has done a lot more work than mvdp.
Just watch the race when they were just before the cobblessector 40 km before the finish.

Remco was about to catch them. Then Pogacar took over and opend up the gap. Then van der poel took over and gap was coming down again. Just before the cobblesector he took over again. After that the chance for remco to come back was over.

It was realy amazing how he managed that.

That's crazy talk. What help is he going to be anyway if Pog wants to accelerate from the bottom, he'd just be in the way.

It's dumb. The only appropriate response is either laugh at it or give an even dumber reply to ragebait.
