I don't see him winning Roubaix this year no matter what the wind does to be honest. I just don't see how/ where he makes the gap on riders like MdvP, Wout and Mads at the moment. Props to him for trying though, should be a fun race!
Last year he was alone with MVP. Pedersen is weaker this season and WVA is not what he used to be. The only question is MVP, luck will have to play a role tbh.

But he (Pog) benefitted from quite a bit of luck last year, with key riders like Mads and Ganna having mechanicals, and Philipsen not seeming as strong as in 2024. If he stays upright he will do well because he profits from a tough parcours, but that doesn't mean it will be easy for him to actually win.

# of race days is kind of irrelevant here because majority of race days, especially in stage races, are easier than his average training day

Where did he say anything about it? Anyway, ofc MVDP, Pedersen and WVA are all riders who can beat Pogi in PR, lets see what the lotery of the race will tell.
He is implying he only needs to drop MVDP, since that was the only one there last year. But last year the only reason MVDP was the only one was because WVA was worse than this year, and Pedersen had a mechanical. I'm not so sure they will be dropped this year if they don't have any issues.

My opinion: Pogacar should try to add the Vuelta to his palmares this year.
Why?
Because he won't be able to do a TDF-Vuelta double in the next years with this French machine getting stronger and stronger.

He will not race 2 GTs when he is 20 years old. So next year he will race the Giro or the Tour. I believe he will race the Giro next year.

Let me explain, mate.
In 2027 Pogacar goes to the Tour against a more mature and stronger Paul.
He will get exhausted too much and he will skip the Vuelta again.

MvdP doesn't want Wout or Mads at the finish because they could both beat him in the sprint, at least their odds would be much better than Pogacar's. He will make sure they're dropped beforehand

No, I think Seixas needs to drop him to have a chance and the way Pogačar‘s rivals ride I could see Seixas working with him to ride for 2nd if he manages to follow Pogačar.

I think Pogacar will suffer with french fans. Next year, I can see a scenario of Seixas vs Pogacar in the WC. After losing the Tour, Seixas loses the sprint in France against Teddy. Can you feel the letdown?

He can be a protagonist at LBL and also increases Evenpoel’s odds - that said the smart money is still on Pog distancing everyone but would be progress if someone can stay with him until as least Roche-aux-Facons. I think that’s a strong possibility with Sexias’ form

He almost followed Pogacar in Sante Marie but la Redoute comes after 225 km and not 120 km so it will be tough.

It's a 4 minute climb and Pogacar puts 10-15 secs on Carapaz level riders there.
I see it as quite likely that Paul will follow him.
