What's most impressive is that he did it all alone. The second UAE was Sivakov, 30 seconds behind group.

There were three Red Bull in that group, two Ineos , and five Astana. Astana lives by hunting for points.

He was cooked in PR. Pidcock is a very decent sprinter and was in Pogacar's wheel most of the time.
Pidcock has suddenly started to be undervalued this year as a fast rider when he won an Amstel against Van Aert in a sprint (Pidcock won).
He also won another Amstel against fast riders like Hirschi, easily outsprinting them. And he has demonstrated his speed in other races.

A sprint in Catalunya was taken as a reference point after arriving "cooked" from San Remo while his rivals were arriving from the altitude camp.

Pogi definitely didn't enjoy his sprint loss to WVA in Roubaix. Even if he said he had spaghetti legs.

In his post race interview after LBL he said in between Redoute and RaF he was thinking how to manage the finish if it ends up in a sprint because he didn't want to live an " humiliation like against Van Aert ".
So he felt humiliated in PR.

Pogacar already started "trolling" due to boredom in stage races last year and will only increase it in the future, especially if he knows no one is even somewhat close, like here. Yesterday pulling the whole climb and by far the most after, then destroying the sprint with basically no fatigue, today visibly refusing to attack and then being the first responder to about 14 attacks, before again destroying the sprint with basically no fatigue.

There is no doubt that if yesterday was the last stage and he was somehow behind, he would've gone 1+ minute faster on the climb.

Apparently he said be fore the race he's gonna conserve energy. So that's what that looks like.
