Vingegaard won't be there for sure, and it is unthinkable that Seixas may do 2 GT in one season at his age.
Evanepoel and Lipowitz are not supposed to do the Vuelta either

This doesnt matter, when he has been going from Feb to end of Tour with no real break.

As it is not about the race days he has done. He has either been training very hard, racing very hard races and then now... started to prepare for the Tour. Romandie being the start of this. He will then do a training block in May and get ready for Suisse. Tour.

It is not about who will potentially be at the Vuelta. That really doesnt matter either.

He likely take and need the break to show up for the last part of the season.

Somehow I'm convinced Pogacar intends to do the Vuelta this year.
It would explain why he skipped a race like the AGR and other prestigious one day race during the spring.
When he completes the TdF he'll have 37 racing days.
Then what? Add only a few more one day races?
The Vuelta ends 2 weeks before the WCRR.

It's not ideal but we have seen Vuelta riders doing well during the WCRR, so it's not like it would prevent him from winning.
If he wins TdF , Vuelta , WCRR, and GDL it would become by far the best season ever in cycling with no question about it
And with the European Championship he could still finish the season with 60 racing days.
On the high end by his standard but not unthinkable.

With this year’s Worlds in Canada it makes more sense for him to focus on the Canadian races get used to the time zone and then close the season with the European Championships in Slovenia and Il Lombardia

Looking ahead to next year the plan could be the Tour de France followed by the World Championships in Sallanches in France straight after That kind of block would already be extremely demanding so adding the Vuelta on top of it would likely be too much and risk leaving him completely exhausted. I think he will go to Vuelta in 2028 when the WCH will be held in UAE

Tour-Vuelta is a must in 2027. 7 weeks between them.

Yeah, I think 2028 is the best move. Not earlier.

That can happen in any race or training session. If it were just about the risk of crashes, he wouldn't go to Flanders and Roubaix.

He hasn't done any stage races, and the Tour is in two months, which is why he's doing the Tour de Romandie. He can't go to the Tour without races like this and TDS.

Ridiculous, big bunch sprints are more dangerous than selection races were you are climbing in a small group, just basic bike racing, big curb to curb body bumping sprints are dangerous by nature. Crashes are a possibility in every race, at your house, while out training.. I would say by anyone's measurement that Pogacar doesn't need practice at anything. Today prime example why taking unnecessary risks was silly, today group got thinned with Pogacar getting " practice punishing people. All the knee jerk BS about the passing of the torch to Paul Seixas, that the Pogacar era was coming to an end.. Again ridiculous. He absolutely humiliated the field.. Additional proof that he doesn't need to take any unnecessary risky moves, he outclassed all the competition.

The way I saw it today, he was riding hard after his attack but only went full gas in the last km or so to drop and distance Lipowitz, he put 20ish seconds into him in 1 km. Definitely still has reserves in how hard he's going, how fresh he is, how prepared for long climbing efforts he is and to lose some weight
