It really is a disgrace to see such a beautiful building spoilt by the wild grass and foliage growing out of control.

why hasn't anybody thought of an online petition asking for Phat's resignition?

CCN is of course aiming at that, but UCI can apparently simply ignore CCN and Cyclingnews and others are letting them get away with that.

I think (as others have also suggested) CCN's weak point is that those asking for the change are putting themselves forward as replacements. UCI can apparently pretend that they're dealing with a rebellious, mutinous minority trying to take over the ship.

But an explicit, direct, in-your-face online petition signed by the fans with enough votes and an explicit message would perhaps be more difficult for the UCI to ignore, especially if the press pick it up.

This is how grass grows at a PED/paraphernalia burial site. What could be a safer place to dispose of old vials and syringes than the front lawn of the UCI building?

Even the London Review of Books knows what the score is when it comes to the UCI:

The major "outsider" news journos will be the ones that force the change at IOC level. And maybe even for cycling. The inside cycling journos are a big part of the problem. We had some of them come out and do mea culpas, but they have since gone back to their Omerta caves. Certainly little investigative work being done. We/they have but 3 months until the season begins again to expose and cut the rot for what it is.

Sniper - check w/ Iwatchcyclinginjuly about repaircycling.org. They may know of existing grass-roots efforts. Maybe you could help make them bigger, idk. I think there is/are some petitions somewhere. I think repaircycling is aimed at getting the club and rider level of energy involved in changing things.
