Why bother even racing it. They can just hand Froome the trophy now since that is what they want. Anyway, I shall be enjoying the Indy Car race in Mid Ohio on the final weekend of the race and now don't care that I'm missing the end of the race. For that matter don't even care if NBC is even bothering to show it on TV or not either.

Mid Ohio is awesome just went to a Vintage Grand Prix there. The views on the mound at the end of the keyhole right near the entrance are amazing. Another good spot is the S turns right after you cross over the bridge into the infield.

Podium: Landa, Thomas, Roglic
1st yellow: Cavendish
Most Wins: Sagan
Green: Sagan
KoM: Barguil
White: Bernal

But this year it is going to be really hard for Sky doms. (one less
Remember that Geraint Thomas crashed out last year before things got really exciting and Sky managed just fine with 8 riders, while other teams still had 9.

I remember but as I said I have a feeling this year it is going to be different. (hopefully no more Sky ally)
Competition is much better in GC. Each dom will be worth gold on the end. Especially if Movistar has 3 people who can win the whole Tour and can attack from far.

What a pity TDF miss real hard Ardennes type stages
But even then, I think the aversion against Froome is mostly something amongst cycling fans, happily stirred up by the media. A lot of people are claiming that Froome 'has no friends anymore in the peloton', but I think the truth about that is quite different. Of course there are some riders who have vented a strong opinion about it, but I think thats only a small minority.

Winner: Quintana
First yellow: Groenewegen
Most wins: Groenewegen
Green: Sagan
KOM: Quintana
White: Dani Martinez

With Froome there and Thomas being a co-leader (at least according to himself) as well as Poels usually being the last man with Froome in key mountain stages I just can't see Sky giving Bernal the freedom to chase his own goals.

Not exactly Movistar and Bahrain were down to 8 riders after stage one, and two other teams were down to 8 riders not long after that. Actually Movistar may as well have been down to 6 riders by stage 4 as they had two riders crash a couple of times between stages 2 and 4 and were never able to be of any use to the team for the rest of the race.

First time I went was a kid with my dad. He took me to an IMSA/IROC weekend. We went last year as well, had paddock passes (which we have for this year as well). You can get a nice view of the front stretch from the balcony over the garages (plus shade). We watched a lot of the lower class races from there. Watched the Indy Car race from the S's and probably will again this year. We actually watched Carpenter racing rebuilt a car right before the race last year and literally could touch the car in the paddock area. My parents (well now my mom) lives about 2 hours from there. Hope you had a good time at the race you went to.

Like your tour picks.

Winner: Froome
First yellow: Froome
TTT winner: Froome, team sky gets 2nd
Green: Froome
KoM: Froome
White: Froome (The ASO originally wants to ban Froome from this competition but sky uses their lawyers and an independent study about dogs is released which confirms there is a chance Froome is actually a dog, 33 is actually his dog age and his human and therefore young riders competition relevant age is 4)
This. Also add Thomas to the podium as well.

I don't know who will win the Yellow, but I do know that Froome and Porte will not make the podium.

Yellow - ??? ... Froome DNF, Porte outside of the Top 10.
Green - Sagan
White - Bernal
Polka - Majka

I'm guessing you're going with Porte will have his usually bad luck of either a crash or untimely mechanical at some point or other?

Has there ever been a tour with as many good sprinters as what we are going to see this year?
It's definitely a stacked field. A shame Bouhannni and Ewan aren't here or we would have had just about every top sprinter bar Viviani.
The only thing we’d be missing without Bouhanni there is an all in brawl.

Let's be real, Froome's going to smash this race into the ground, no gifts, no holding back.

Unless some surprise contender rises up the way he did in 2011, it won't even be close.
This ^^^

It’s not like they’ve had any repercussions so far, so why wouldn’t they keep the ball rolling.

Thus the reason I said we already know what the outcome of the race is.

Yes, that is pretty much given. He is just incapable of staying focused and out of troubles for three weeks.

Also, IMO at least, he does not have the physique to last three weeks.

He is a great one week rider, I will give him credit for that, but he got no business at riding grand tours as a team leader.

Froome or Nibali for yellow. Both won`t win a stage.
Dumoulin won`t ride for the GC.
Quintana, Landa and Porte will lose a lot of time in week 1 + stage 9.
Valverde will be the best Movistar rider in the GC.
Porte will still finish inside the top 5 because he is the strongest in the mountains.
Skys supporting cast will lose members early...one out Poels, Thomas and Bernal won`t make it past the Roubaix stage.

Kittel comes out of nowhere and dominates the sprints.
Sagan wins green again.
Greipel wins in Paris.

De Gendt finishes second in KoM again.
Landa wins after losing a lot of time early.

Martin wins the time trial.
BMC wins the TTT.

This has all the makings of a tedious procession.

Froome will take time off all contenders (except maybe Porte) in the team time trial.
Froome will take time off all contenders (except Dumoulin, if you count him) in the individual time trial.

One all other stages he can therefore ride conservatively, which he has more than the team to do. When Sky has been at full strength they've shown it's impossible to attack them, and this team it the strongest they've ever fielded.

Choo (bleeping) choo.

Nairo and Porte to fill out the podium.

TY, just wanting to make sure that was your line of thinking. I agree with you. For one reason or another he always has some issue in a GT. Yes, he's good at 1 week races. If they can get Tejay's head fixed he's actually proven he can finish top 5 in GTs, but why he keeps having issues now who knows.

Tejay a better prospect than Porte in the Tour?

Come on people! Porte has also been number five in the Tour and is a much, much better rider than Tejay!

And yes, he may end up crashing out but they should definitely not be backing Tejay, that should be obvious for everyone and his dog.

'Bar Viviani' and a couple others that'd also deserve to be named if you name Viviani or Bouhanni here....
First of them, Bennett that proved himself superior to Viviani during the last Giro.
Then all the German youngsters, Ackermann of course, but also Walscheid and Bauhaus that both can beat some very high-level compétition
(And there is Coquard.... OK I'm kidding for this one)
