Anyway, I shall be enjoying the Indy Car race in Mid Ohio on the final weekend of the race and now don't care that I'm missing the end of the race. For that matter don't even care if NBC is even bothering to show it on TV or not either.
But even then, I think the aversion against Froome is mostly something amongst cycling fans, happily stirred up by the media. A lot of people are claiming that Froome 'has no friends anymore in the peloton', but I think the truth about that is quite different. Of course there are some riders who have vented a strong opinion about it, but I think thats only a small minority.SKSemtex said:wouterkaas said:Remember that Geraint Thomas crashed out last year before things got really exciting and Sky managed just fine with 8 riders, while other teams still had 9.SKSemtex said:But this year it is going to be really hard for Sky doms. I remember but as I said I have a feeling this year it is going to be different. (hopefully no more Sky ally)
Competition is much better in GC. Each dom will be worth gold on the end. Especially if Movistar has 3 people who can win the whole Tour and can attack from far.
What a pity TDF miss real hard Ardennes type stages

Mid Ohio is awesome just went to a Vintage Grand Prix there. The views on the mound at the end of the keyhole right near the entrance are amazing. Another good spot is the S turns right after you cross over the bridge into the infield.
Podium: Landa, Thomas, Roglic
1st yellow: Cavendish
Most Wins: Sagan
Green: Sagan
KoM: Barguil
White: Bernal
This. Also add Thomas to the podium as well.Gigs_98 said:Winner: Froome
First yellow: Froome
TTT winner: Froome, team sky gets 2nd
Green: Froome
KoM: Froome
White: Froome (The ASO originally wants to ban Froome from this competition but sky uses their lawyers and an independent study about dogs is released which confirms there is a chance Froome is actually a dog, 33 is actually his dog age and his human and therefore young riders competition relevant age is 4)

Yellow - ??? ... Froome DNF, Porte outside of the Top 10.
Green - Sagan
White - Bernal
Polka - Majka
It's definitely a stacked field. A shame Bouhannni and Ewan aren't here or we would have had just about every top sprinter bar Viviani.mode747 said:Has there ever been a tour with as many good sprinters as what we are going to see this year?
The only thing we’d be missing without Bouhanni there is an all in brawl.jaylew said:It's definitely a stacked field. Unless some surprise contender rises up the way he did in 2011, it won't even be close.

It’s not like they’ve had any repercussions so far, so why wouldn’t they keep the ball rolling.

I'm guessing you're going with Porte will have his usually bad luck of either a crash or untimely mechanical at some point or other?

Yes, that is pretty much given. He is just incapable of staying focused and out of troubles for three weeks.
Also, IMO at least, he does not have the physique to last three weeks.
He is a great one week rider, I will give him credit for that, but he got no business at riding grand tours as a team leader.
'Bar Viviani' and a couple others that'd also deserve to be named if you name Viviani or Bouhanni here....jaylew said:It's definitely a stacked field.
