Burghardt said before the race that Sagan will take 18-20s leads while he only takes 8-10s. Seems like they made a mistake and overrated Sagans abilities.

Thats very weird seeing Sagan just getting dropped like that.
For a first time I see him not finishing with team. :surprised:

He was done after first 10 km
So was Gaviria. Just not a sprinters' TTT.

Terrain and length are just fine for him. He could do 50 km TT in PR and 80 km in nationals. Something different is behind this IMHO

Hurray, intermediate bonus seconds sprints could be important for yellow.
Haven't thought about that yet but you are right. GVA vs Gilbert could be an interesting battle throughout the first week

Now I remember the conversation about the Education First position in the Time trial. Somebody was arguing that they were good enough for high position. That theory had adverse opinions. Now they are 6th. I forgot which thread was it.

Quintana might be a long range option if he losses more time in Roubaix stage. Good thing he had practice in TOS

Astana +51 without LLS. Impressive.
That was a nice surprise - thought they were going to loose more time today.

Didn't really get any pictures of Astana before the end - but couldn't see who finished with Fuglsang?

Should this finally be the year were Fuglsang can deliver in all three weeks or will he have the usual offday/crash/sickness...... It's going to be fun to see the cobble-stage and who is ready for that challenge.

Uran, Nibali, Yates and Fuglsang will take their results as will Richie of course. Dan Martin not so good and Quintana drops more time. Dumoulin in a good position. Thomas should be quite happy as well...........

All in all I'd say having more or less the same time as and Porte after the TTT is brilliant news for nibali. His biggest weakspot is now over
Great news for cycling that you can crash because of your own fault and be ahead 2 days later through reasons you have nothing to do with

Flat is a killer. Especially if you change bikes. For the ones that crashed they used the same bikes and mitigated the times.

Can't believe that Quintana is almost done already. One more mediocre stage will finish him off.

Sagan looked completely done for. Green jersey might not be a formality after all. Not that it really matters as BORA already completed their main goal.
