A week into the race and he has a point total that is close to what you would need to win (250ish) most years. He almost has to crash to lose the thing now.

There is a 20 point sprint in the middle and stage points have been bumped up as well.

Yep, my bad. I thought this was a hilly stage with 30 for the win but apparently not.

As Sagan said yesterday the biggest enemy is now 'Crash'.

You're not the only one who thought this was a 'hilly' stage. I was a bit surprised when I saw the results and that Sagan got 45 for the stage win.

I think 'Crash' is Sagan's only enemy right now.

I think the first 5 (or 10) of the points classification receive some money. Whole Vacansoleil pops up at the intermediates btw.

Last year I remember hearing the whole team only won 4,400euros in bonus money for the whole tour, so obviously looking for a better bonus this year.

Top 3 on each intermediate sprint get 1500, 1000, 500 Euros respectively. Top 8 in final points classification get cash. If Flecha holds on to his seventh place, he will get 2,500 Euros. There are also daily prizes for the holder of the green jersey.

Vacansoleil must be hard up.
