People were praising Renshaw's leadout ability not too long ago. Not much changed from today compared to the last sprint

wooooooooooow... Renshaw thought that the sprint is the UFC!!!!

Ale-jet IN GREEN!!!!!!!! BOOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Told you Hushovd! you were going to lose La Maillot vert!

GO ALE-JET!!!!!!

So they'll DQ Renshaw and make him pay a fine, none of which will matter to HTC. I doubt Farrar would have won but any chances he had were gone after that.

I hadn't seen him headbutting his opponents before.

Farrar is the sprinter version of Danielson

Wow, I have not seen such bad decisions about which wheels, which slot and when to punch it in quite a while.

Farrar has plenty of speed, power and determination, yet he is either braking, taking his hands off the bar or being moved around by someone else.

This is the sprinter version of Tom Danielson. Plenty of engine, with no sense.

Yesterday he hit the brakes mid-sprint.

Today he takes his hands off the bar, mid-sprint, to place a hand on Renshaw, and had to stop pedaling for a second to allow a gap to open.

Cavendish has Zabal. Who is tutoring Farrar? Vaughters?

It is evident he needs real help, because he could be winning these stages.

Renshaw gave Julian Dean a great big head-****, and then weaved all over the place as he was drifting back instead of pulling over to the opposite side of the road like lead-out men usually do. He'll probably get a fine and a relegation for that.
Still, I don't think anyone would have caught Cav today regardless.

+1 on that. If Barredo is still in the race (which is absolutely beyond my belief) Renshaw shouldn't get more than a fine for this...

HTC's (Renshaw) tactics were dangerous and very unsporting.
The butting and subsequent blocking were a disgrace.
Tainted win for Cav.

That was horrible. Don't think it would really have made any difference to the end result but Renshaw definitely blocked Farrar. Dean did look like he was drifting slightly but the headbutt was a bit OTT.

Renshaw is a tough cookie.

I don't know the rules, but assume for the sake of the argument that Renshaw is punished for blocking Farrar, could the referee take points away from Cav? I don't think so, but it's kind of a loophole IMHO to have the lead-out take out the competition without repercussions for his front man.

EBH got screwed also by this blocking rubbish, that was a perfect long sprint for him.. he needs 200m just to wind it up, the hes fast as roadrunner....

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
If Dean had got across, he would have put Renshaw into the barriers and Cav with him. Totally blocked sprint.
Probable result? Dean put to last place and Farrar takes the stage.
Renshaw puts the helmet into Dean's shoulder and closed out Farrar and the other barrier men.
Probable result? Renshaw will be put to the back of the bunch and Cav wins.

(btw Petacchi also cut Farrar up)

I dunno. I thought Dean was moving in on Renshaw. And then Renshaw didn't have anywhere to go after launching Cav. Farrar got past ok, although he was slowed a bit.

Strangest thing for me was Petacchi. It looked like his lead out man was waiting for him to go, as if Petacchi had fallen asleep on the job.

Anyway, it's late and I'm off to bed. Maybe I was seeing it through sleepy eyes.

The last headbutt was definitely uncalled for. The first one looked more like shoving to fight for the position. The third one was "hey ma I'm a douche".

I did not know that Renshaw has tourettes.
