Oh noes! Cuddles has a bike change already.

And that's the excitement for kilometer 3. Only 165 more kilometers to go!:D

Morning forumnites! Hopefully today is worth the 0300 wake up.

Nobody watching? Cadel just had to change bike. He's still behind, alone. Chavanel is up the road. Peleton is split in two trying to catch him/get in the break.

Cadel dropped before the first climb for a bike change, the bunch chasing those trying a break and no BMC riders waiting.

There is no way the group will allow TWO Leopard Trek riders plus a Liquigas rider into the break.

Europcar doesn't care about that. It's for Saxo and BMC.

Europcar didn't enter into my thinking. I was thinking about BMC and Saxo.

EDIT: And I think BMC has a rider in this break as well. Yeah, I can't see why Saxo hasn't come to the front to shut this break down. Or at least get a man in it.

Group is too big, they won't last long this way. Probably at the first mountain over half of them will be dropped quickly.

We'll know shortly. Going to be a lumpy day in the saddle.

Jens' last gasp

That's a "legitimate" breakaway, lots of different talent. I got to go watch it on TV.

Jens Vogt wins, riding the last 5 km with a broken leg and a flat tire.

Site has:

Gerdemann, Voigt, Mollema, LL Sánchez, Izagirre, Millar ,di Gregorio, Koren, Bouet, Riblon, Zandio, Chavanel, Casar, Delage, Vichot, El Fares, Quinziato, Charteau, Silin, Marcato.

Behind them, Rubén Pérez, Iglinskiy, Ventoso, Pineau and Malori.

Guess we can say that Movistar have no faith in winning the maillot vert, as surely this is one of the stages they'd really need Rojas going for it at the intermediate.
