But this time it's not against Contador, but the Schlecks ;)

And he's not behind them, but in front of them :)
Pistolero: 08 ITT was against SASTRE -07 was against CONTADOR....
now- what if Evans blows big time in Alpe d'huez? was it worth holding up to watch the rest? that's not being smart all IMO

however he is such a diesel. he doesnt even look like he is racing. he needs harder climbs.

I know I'm stupid but I hope he will put Szmyd on front on the Galibier, make a deal with Samu to lead the descent and then just set an impossibly high pace on the Alpe.

Funny you didn't know if you're into cycling that much.

lol really?
yeah because SBS = cycling knowledge.

get a grip

Sorry, I stay clear from that load of crap that is cycling central. The blogs and articles are almost as unbearable as phil and paul.
His comments after this stage (which were commented on by various members) illustrates my points.

But hey, your a cycling god cause you know some fool on the sbs team ;)

he wont be given the same oppurtunities in the alps. he will be a marked man now. he wont be able to get away.

Anyone who wants to stop him on 16 and 17 is going to have to do things they don't like doing.

The shlecks are rubbish entertainment i hate this whole culture of not committing and being unwilling to work on an mtf even when you are quite clearly strong

Hitch, yes samu attacked but frankly hes a bit rubbish and was tailed off before, the group started looking at each other and thats why he got away, when he won the stage he had a headstart at the base of the climb and still nearly got taken by frank shleck from a peloton with few domestiques to pull it, he attacked and good for him but it doesnt make him a threat and when the others race properly that will be clear for al to see

Baseball was better this :p

Seriously tho, a terrible stage.
I'm pretty annoyed. My only explanation is everything for the alps.

Yeah, even deep sea fishing :D

Look at my post in the "game forum". I think the Schlecks think they are wonderboys and can bring both to the podium. But that "tactic" will fail. They forgot they can´t TT. I really tought up today the smaller time gaps are because of "clinic changes". But i am wrong. It´s the same $hit tactic of the Schlecks who already lost at least two tours because of this 1,5 second "attacks".
Hope a new CG guy comes around soon, but with balls please.

Voeckler wins it... or AC, or even Vanendert ;)

Not quite. Contador is doing his best Leipheimer impersonation :D

Has Leipheimer really blown or is he looking for a stage win down the road? He could win the ITT or now be let go in a break.

Yep. 15 seconds at the base, 30 at the top on everyone but Frank Schleck.

Anthony Tan. Yeah thought he was doing better than he blog crap and twitter spew but then he said Basso is **** at TT because he lost 6mins last year....

SBS post race coverage has been very average this year. Hurried post-race analysis and barely nothing on standings then cut off the presentations. I like the extended coverage this year but c'mon, do some fixing of the edges...
LOL, Tomalaris can't put two words together, rumours are going around that he's getting the sack.

I still don't get your point but if Evans blows on Alpe D'Huez then the ITT is irrelevant. He loses his chance to win the tour.

No, because SBS is the only TV station broadcasting the Tour, and Anthony Tan is on that broadcast virtually every night.

Pardon me - thought you might have seen him.

Am I the only with the the deer-in-the-headlights look after today's stage?

I don't even know where to begin... what in the world is Leopard thinking? Are they banking the entire Tour on 1 or 2 stages in the Alps? Are they kidding me?

Alberto's knee is getting better, Cadel is a monster in the ITT and will put 2 minutes on AC, AS, FS & IB. Alberto's got a reason for not attacking (crappy form, injured knee, et cetera). Ivan is not as good as he used to be. But Andy? Or Frank? How can they expect to win the TdF if they're unwilling to take advantage of the OBVIOUS opportunities being handed to them?

To me Andy looks more like a man waiting for a showdown with Contador (and subsequently beat him of course) than someone looking to win the TdF.

Can someone tell me how Evans reverted to his old tatics. PLease tell me who needs time before the tt? Evans actually did put in a little dig but the effects of the attack were nullified because he couldn't get around Basso.

I dont care what he needs to do. Ive been one of the bigger Evans fans on the forum but so far his entire advantage in this Tour has come from a ttt on Andy and Basso , and a ttt + crashes on Contador and Samu, so in my eyes he hasnt earned his position.

I dont care if other people think he has earned it or not, in my eyes all he has earned is 8 seconds on Andy on Superbesse, and if he just defends his undeserved lead for the rest of the Tour that goes against everything i believe in so i am more than ever really really hoping for anybody but Evans at the moment. Chain, Aso screwing him, neutral service car not giving him the wheel or Schleckletss cracking him, its all good unless Evans attacks on one of the remaining stages.

Now if he was a rider everyone ignored, like Voeckler, then maybe but going in Evans was called the second favourite because he speaks english and now because of his unearned advantages on Andy and AL and his english speaking abilities hes being universally called the favourite and now all his fanboys in the media are getting excited as if he had earned this.

Because I want to hear the thoughts of tomalaris and the other geniuses they get on the show?

Oh yeah, I guess being a cycling fan means I have to pay attention to a bunch of nitwits. just because.

While Andy is watching Alberto, and Alberto is watching Cadel, and Cadel is watching Ivan, and Ivan is watching Andy, Thomas Voeckler may be standing on the top step in Paris.

That was better as a J Geils song. Love Stinks. :)

going to get breakfast now... then watch the last 15 k again. Watching Phil and Paul, they didn't mention that Uran, Peraud and Rolland were at all even though they were in it at the end. They didn't mention Peraud nearly at all, even when this thread was mentioning him and he was on camera. I don't think they mentioned Uran at all and he is from one of their favorite teams, Sky. Want to go watch those guys closer.

if the doctor says you can't go OUT for a ride for at least two weeks until I get better, am I violating his order if I am riding on a trainer IN the house? I am not OUT on a ride...humm....
