I know no one could have predicted how strong he has been at this year's Tour, but a lot of people on this forum said pre-race that he couldn't climb at all, and that he took advantage of gaining time in breaks (which I know he has a done before). He has a top 10 in the Giro. On a side note, I'm pretty sure I just saw Denis Menchov struggling at the back, but I'm not 100% sure.

Struggling... or just riding at the back?

Menchov always seems to ride at the back until the very end of the climbs... it seems like he just calmly moves past riders that drop, but never leaves the lead group.

I don't know how anyone can really tell if Menchov is struggling until the drops... he seems to give nothing away.

Van Den Broeck really is the anti-menchov.. always right at the front... amazing how different people can be despite the always negative tactics everybody uses.

patat met frikandel!

But on topic, Sastre does look like a frikandel at the moment

hoe lang ik al geen frikadel/kroket/zuur vlees meer heb gegeten... Hmmm, getting hungry.

Doesn't look likely that anyone from the break will take the stage...:p

I was wrong, I thought his 7 was a one. But I could tell because his shoulders were rocking, jersey unzipped, etc.

Guys, it wasn't Menchov, it was Niermann
Menchov is in the front of the peloton, on your left

Stop letting me repeat myself :)

Where he has been for most of the Tour, smack at the front (without the smack!). Can't think of a Tour where he has been more attentive than this one.

it's called the fog of war. You use it if you can, to win the battle.

Sheep in the peloton.

Where is the shepperd when you need him
