Cav accelerated so fast that even when he stood up to make 5 with his hand 10-20 meters before the finish his gap from Petacchi was still increasing.................. without pedalling.

That acceleration is incredible!

So much more convenient than unclipping and dragging my feet along the floor. Will also improve the life of cleats id imagine!

I usually just stop on an uphill. If I have to stop on a down hill I try and find a grassy area and just roll onto the ground.

Maybe paul could put a youtube video together explaining what all those sprocket thingies are that my 'chain' is attached to and what they do. Do they make a difference?

I can't either, but it would be a magnanimous gesture on his part. I'd be surprised if he tweets him a congratulations as well.

looked like he was about to when AC turned to his team gathering. looks like he missed some face time.

Cav doing it without a train, without Mark Renshaw, and without mercy. The first half of his season may have been a failure, but he has show the world once again that he is quite simply the fastest man on two wheels in the race that matters the most. His kick just cannot be matched, Julian Dean (who is no slouch) was on his wheel but had no hope of following, and he was pulling away from Ale-Jet all the way to the line.

Good sprint!

He's had a good tour and looks a good prospect even though he's already won the Belgian Nationals. A very strong rider for now and the future.

How Tall (short) is Cav?

The letour.fr computes to about 5' 8" (1.75m). I'm sorry, but the women standing on lower steps towered over him (granted, they have heels on) but wtf, he isn't even close to 5' 8". I'm thinking 5' 5" (I calc. about 1.66m).

I was thinking the same thing...
