I would say not, but what counts is who climbs fastest when they race.

If all in peak form then my ranking would be Berto > Andy > Evans > Frank > Vanendert.

Perhaps you should put this in a thread of it's own as I don't see how this particularly equates with sky, I know it is the vogue to accuse Sky without evidence, so it is just a thought.

It depends on what kind of explosive climber you are talking about. Purito doesn't have the big engine and endurance to hold a gap and possibly increase a gap over 5 km plus say (having said that he has done this in the past). Someone like, say Contador, Quintana or the Schlecks can make a gap and hold it. It puts the pressure on the diesels to go above their limit. Also if a few riders chip off the front and form a group they can work together.
