I hear and understand that, but I just can't see cycling surviving with things the way they are, there has to be a change both from within the peloton and by the governing body, and independent testing.

But even with things the way they are people are getting caught left, right and centre. People are having to admit to a career of doping, and totally undermining everything they have achieved. I can't imagine pros looking at the fallout and thinking they can get away with doping. It may not happen straight away but eventually they get caught. Even big Mig won't get away with it, when he looked home and dry.

Again, the consequences seem mild. The only one wrecked is Lance.

I'm fine with you believing they are clean... but the logic you displayed here is bizarre.

What odd about Porte's stomping performance is be has no ambition of his own.

You'd think if a guy crushes the field as he did 'clean' he might want to become a GT rider.

But no he just wants to fetch bidons.

Indurian got a way with it. Many have been unscathed by doping scandals.

How does Kloden, Menchov and Popo still ride?

If anything one can learn from those caught. Don't make comebacks and keep your head down. Dope at will.

The biggest mistake you can make is not to look too strong. ie Rabo 2006, 07, USPS 04. Don't rub everyone's noses in your doping,

Sky might need to reign in it a little. Maybe lose some races to appear clean.

Fair enough. I guess you just take the inference that since Sky's form this year is the same as last year, they are doing the same thing. If the performance had dropped off you'd assume they were doing something different. So it boils down to opinion again.

4 Sky guys now leading a group of 10 people in Tirreno, while people are dying just staying on their wheel  Surely, this is just superior training and marginal gains.

Actually that part of your argument wasn't flawed. If you go from the premise they are clean confirmation of their efforts could be seen as a logical explanation.

But what you said about the cyclists being scared is just ridiculous. Even you must admit that Landis, Armstrong and Rasmussen are the clear proof there is no scaring effects for pro athletes by earlier scandals. And even you must admit that beyond Armstrong and Landis (who is an idiot)every star is set for life.

Michael Boogerd is sitting pretty in his Porsche and an offer for co-commentator. Michael Rasmussen is actually having a very good chance of winning a mindbogling amount of cash (and he had already won close to a million in the first case).

Your logic is flawed.

Like them or not, the US Postal comparisons are going to follow Sky again this year. Four Sky riders are drilling on the front and they have fractured the leading group. Cadel Evans and Joaquim Rodriguez are in the second part of the group that is beginning to lose contact.

With a little over 6km, Alberto Contador accelerates and opens a small gap but Sergio Henao and Rigoberto Uran diligently lift the pace and bring Froome et al back up to him.

It's not July yet but... uhm... wow.
