F@@k me, you are really on to something here, Hoggo.
The dope that Sky are using is only effective on long inclines, not the steeper stuff.

If only there was some form of doping that increased physical performance on all types of roads...That would be much more useful.

Wiggins has to face facts.

He's nt a responder like Froome.

Can we talk about Santambrogio here? :D
I'm DYING to speak of Santambrogio, Evans's former trusty domestique for those times when he couldn't make it with the top 40 guys on a climb, but there's no thread for him. We need a general Giro thread or something.

Yeah, a lot of weird stuff happening this Giro. Could be just a weird result in a single stage, but it'll be interesting to discuss.

Walsh is taking the ****?

David Walsh ‏@DavidWalshST 42m
Overall I would say good day for Wiggins, a finish like that taxes him but when he was dropped he rode well to limit losses. Long way to go.

Response to Epo presumably is different to response to the new weight loss peptides...

Bilharzia vs 12kg weight loss capability over winter. Which is preferable do you think?

No doubt after last year a few teams woke up and smelt the coffee.

I will say that Sky tactics are just terriable.

You could see they were trying to blow Nibs by attenpting to make him chase Uran. To bad Uran lost time waiting for Wiggins last week.

But there was little point when you know Sky want a Wiggins win.

Sky couldn't be anymore obvious.

To me where we see wiggins today is what he should be on a doping program.

Last year was gang-busters with AICAR etc.

I'm comfotable with what I'm seeing from Wiggins. This is him on a regular micro-doping program. A level playing field if you will.

I now look forward to Walsh telling us Astana are dopers.

Only logical answer is that Wiggins was sick last week and they were hoping he could recover in time. Hasn't quite worked out like that so now Uran gets to work himself into a reasonable position, their tactics today were spot on.

I'm sorry but this is just getting sad. If you told me Walsh his tweets were from the official Sky PR-channel, I'd almost believe you.

Then again, it's pretty much par for the course for an embedded 'journalist', so it's not entirely unexpected.

I thought it was wise to send Uran up the road. I agree that they are so obviously committed to a Wiggins win. Will they screw this one up like they did the 2012 Olympics Road Race and stick to the plan?

It seems like Wiggo's mentally fragile. A little adversity plus some crashing and he's apparently off his game. All the power in the world won't fix that.

I don't know that Sky's doping guns are done firing. But, it's not the 2012 team, that's for sure.

Sadly Walsh has lost it. Seems to get too personally involved and allows this to bias his opinions.

As a general comment, what's any Journalist supposed to do in that scenario? If they go around asking about the doping program, then there's no stories coming out of the situation at all. They are there to produce stories.

In a way, it's probably better for the Omerta faithful to keep their worst media critics fully employed like this. It is what it is.

Agree, tactics today were very good.

With Cataldo and Henao available, Team Sky has lots of options in the coming two weeks.

Only problem is that Wiggins doesn't seem up to it on very steep slopes (same in Vuelta 11)

It be interesting to see Sky tactics tomorrow on a less difficult finish.

Looks like 2012 was the year of a relative Sky weight loss exclusive. This year that game is much more widespread. Whereas in strength sports we have seen a massive bulking over the last decade or so, in cycling we seem to see a remarkable weight loss in the last season at little/no expense of power. The number of "skeletons on bikes" seems much higher than in seasons past.

Its too early to dance on their grave. Dont forget that this is the sky B squad. When Dawg and Porte show up in the tour it will be back to normal.

I think Walsh shouldn't tweet. It definitely comes across as they way Sky would hope, commercial editorial. It is the second best thing to having Kimmage tweet similar gushing praise.

Rasmussen? It's always been like that to an extent really. It's the riders who are a certain weight for literally years (or so they say) and then suddenly lose 8-10Kgs that are suspicious.

Yeah. BW losing 10-12 mins on a stage like this would be fully back to normal.

Really?!??!?!
Why don't athletes use this wonder drug? It sure sounds like it would help them get up the steep stuff......

Just in case there is any doubt, here are some sarcasm smilies for you.

Ah, so now the drugs just don't work, because he just HAS to be chugging down the good stuff.

Poor Wiggo, he just cant get a break.....

I feel sorry for him.

Last year he was unstoppable.

Pat won't be taking risks at the moment so Wiggo has to rely a regular program.

I think Wiggins will explode soon. Start name calling his rivals as dopers. Just you wait. Either that or he'll pull out.

I will file it alongside your many other conflicting predictions.

You do that. I know the template of a doper.

Lets circle back in week 3 to compare notes.
