Riis' wallet may be empty but it's not all doom and gloom. He has made some smart recruitments considering his budget at the moment. Kreuziger, Roche, Bennati, Sutherland and Duggan all bring something to the table and Jay McCarthy is a promising young talent.

Ofc its an entirely different team in 2013 than this year, no matter what he did it couldn´t get worse.

McCarthy yes he is a neo pro.

Nice signings, particularly Cavendish, but as OPQS were already the second strongest team they aren't really in the running for this imaginary award. Saxo and Ag2r were bloody awful this year, but next year they both have vastly improved lineups.

I suppose if you look at it relatively(percentage wise) then yeah that's true. Especially because Contador will normally ride a full year for Saxo. It's also doubtful Boonen will have another great year like this again next year, but on paper he should be as strong as ever.

And it's not like they strengthen their biggest weakness which are GT's. Lost Levi ( he still scored points in those stage races ). Cataldo will be replaced by Brambilla. Still not great however.

That's what I thought too. Since Nibali was the only real GC contender up for grabs it was a smart signing.

Whoa calm down buddy!!! It just sounded like you weren't happy with the team or it's budget. That's why I pointed out that it will be MUCH stronger next year

I know what he meant, but with Cavendish you have the potential to win a lot of stages. I don't know of a lot of good GC contenders that were available this year. Nibali is one, but he was never going to sign for OPQS and Cav's probably a better investment.

[20.11 16:28] With immediate effect, Riis Cycling and its two Co-Title sponsors, Saxo Bank and Tinkoff Bank, have agreed to change the name of the cycling team to "Team Saxo-Tinkoff."

Since Russian company Tinkoff Bank came onboard prior to the Tour de France 2012, the name of the team had been Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank. Going forward the new name will be Team Saxo-Tinkoff.
