Have heard things from Danish people that maybe Bjarne wants to sign Alex Rasmussen when his suspension ends. 1 neo pro so 29 riders max.

Dane and very good rider, great for a team like Saxo

Riis' wallet may be empty but it's not all doom and gloom. He has made some smart recruitments considering his budget at the moment. Kreuziger, Roche, Bennati, Sutherland and Duggan all bring something to the table and Jay McCarthy is a promising young talent.Fidolix said:No more money in the bank flo, and besides Alex would rather go back to Garmin if it´s possible for him to get a new contract, but it shouldn´t be a problem since JV wants him back.

Fidolix said:Ofc its an entirely different team in 2013 than this year, no matter what he did it couldn´t get worse.
Zinoviev Letter said:Yes, Saxo and Ag2r are the only two contenders for the status of most improved team, at least on paper.
Wouldn't Christoffer Juul, Jay McCarthy and Marko Kump be technically neo-pro next season?LaFlorecita said:Have heard things from Danish people that maybe Bjarne wants to sign Alex Rasmussen when his suspension ends. 1 neo pro so 29 riders max.

El Pistolero said:QS have Pieter Serry, Mark Cavendish and most likely Gianni Meersman. Also Stybar will do his first classic season for the team normally.
Zinoviev Letter said:Nice signings, particularly Cavendish, but as OPQS were already the second strongest team they aren't really in the running for this imaginary award. Saxo and Ag2r were bloody awful this year, but next year they both have vastly improved lineups.
El Pistolero said:I suppose if you look at it relatively(percentage wise) then yeah that's true. Especially because Contador will normally ride a full year for Saxo. It's also doubtful Boonen will have another great year like this again next year, but on paper he should be as strong as ever.![]()
Gloin22 said:And it's not like they strengthen their biggest weakness which are GT's. Lost Levi ( he still scored points in those stage races ). Cataldo will be replaced by Brambilla. Still not great however.
However they indeed improved. Should get most wins next year by a margin with Cav on the team. I am looking forward to Serry riding Ardennes a lot too.
That's what I thought too. Since Nibali was the only real GC contender up for grabs it was a smart signing.El Pistolero said:Uhm, that's why they bought Cavendish.

Whoa calm down buddy!!! It just sounded like you weren't happy with the team or it's budget. That's why I pointed out that it will be MUCH stronger next yearFidolix said:The question was regarding Alex Rasmussen, and not the signings allready made or whatever how good or bad Riis did in this transfer window.

Afrank said:He said they lost Levi, so I suspect he meant GC in GT's.
But I do agree, Cav is a very good buy for them, with him they can get wins throughout the entire season.
New name: Team Saxo-Tinkoff
[20.11 16:28] With immediate effect, Riis Cycling and its two Co-Title sponsors, Saxo Bank and Tinkoff Bank, have agreed to change the name of the cycling team to "Team Saxo-Tinkoff."
Since Russian company Tinkoff Bank came onboard prior to the Tour de France 2012, the name of the team had been Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank. Going forward the new name will be Team Saxo-Tinkoff.
I'd wish they would go back to the '11 jersey. By far the best of the Saxo jerseysLaFlorecita said:Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank change their name to Team Saxo-Tinkoff
