Do you know what WT stands for and what it means?

Is it relevant ?

what is relevant is 7 victories, bottom half. That's why you don't see sponsors fighting for the Tinkoff spot.

edit : they have 7 victories, my bad. 2 stages (2 in Vuelta) won in 63 (?) GT stages.

What is relevant is the exposure they get.

Highly visible in the Tour. Was perhaps the second most covered team in the media in the Tour.

Did decently in the other two GTs.

Won Amstel.

Is 7th in the WT ranking closer to 4th than 8th.

There are 19 teams in the big league.

There are 10 better teams that this one according to all ranking sites that takes in to account all pro events, and not only the few that make UCI Tour.

This could suggest that sponsors may find a discrepancy between the amounts required to jump on board versus the results.

For sure Tinkoff thought he pays to much for this results.

I'm curious how much the new sponsor will be willing to give.

Sounds more like BT using a Riis quote to make a headline. Riis doesn't mention the word sponsor a single time.

He only talked about a new sponsor deal coming close on live tv, rumors say that it will affect the Saxo part but I doubt, what I´m pretty sure about is that they have a new bike sponsor that probably also will be the other main sponsor.

Any idea which bike sponsor? Can't imagine Alberto not on a Speshy :(

In August there was a sponsor event during which Contador climbed the Gavia and Mortirolo with fans. There were 2 BePink ladies, Doris Schweizer and Alice Maria Arzuffi. BePink rides Kemo bikes. Coincidence? Perhaps they are just big AC fans (can't blame them) :p

Oleg Tinkov ‏@olegtinkov 45m

I always liked the riders @TeamSaxoTinkoff and respect Riis. This's a dream team, but we never agreed on economics, there is unbalanced budget

Oleg Tinkov ‏@olegtinkov 56m

I wish the best to @TeamSaxoTinkoff to find a sponsor. It has been fan to be with you guys! I am sure I'll meet most of you soon)

i guess he has a problem with Contador's paycheck

Tinkov seems to have put his quest to insult Contador aside. His last two tweets about him where not as unfriendly as before. So I guess it was all hot air and the real reason for the split was indeed disagreement on several matters.

Hmmm... those bikes just don't have the same sexy feel to it

Just wait until you see a photo of Alberto draped across one of them, then your opinion will improve.

Just imagine something like this highly provocative ad campaign from Giant:
