Will Chris Horner be at the press confernce?

Nah, Horner is busy stalking Brailsford explaining why he is just like Froome and that his second cousins great grandmothers butler was from Oslo so he is really British too if you think about it.

Unless there's free burgers, but I'd say no. Spain isn't burger paradise. Besides, he isn't getting off the couch unless there's a Mil/year 2 year deal in the works there. :p

Alonso buying the licence from Riis.

Riis to work as a consultant with Alonso the next year.

Just kidding :D

I expect something like:
- more money from Saxo Bank, maybe a minor sponsor.
- Budget not great but OK
- Bjarne signs a couple of good riders at a bargain because they don't find another team
- Bjarne's broad, a bit creepy grin.

My prediction:

-Saxo Bank will increase their budget somewhat
-The riders will take a pay cut
-That means budget for 2014 is ok, but the goal is to find a new co-sponsor during 2014, as Saxo dont wanna continue as sole-sponsor beyond next year.
-In the following days some monor names will be signed to complete the roster.

It probably is something like that, yeah, especially since they have been on Tour the last couple of days (and therefore not face to face with another sponsor, I guess). Also Gazzetta somehow always gets good info from Contador's camp.

I don't completely rule out some exciting news from Spain, though. The press-conference is held in Madrid (why not Saxo HQ in Copenhagen?) and some high-profile Spanish riders are still without a contract. Until today, however, you practically didn't hear much from the likes of, for instance, the Sanchez boys.

agree - there's a reason this conference is being held in Madrid... so there must be some 'spanish' angle to this - either re riders, or additional sponsor(s)....

Is L.L. Sanchez an option? Riis doesn't care about doping allegations and needs riders who can get more wins. L.L. Sanchez can probably take a lower salary since he has 2 years of salary left from Belkin. How does he get along with Contador?

Press conference start in 20 mins I believe so not long to wait now.

Agree there must be a Spanish angle. I would won't be surprised to see LuLu and Samu signed up.

I know Samu was denying Riis has been in touch earlier but he suggested he'd be very keen to go to Saxo if offered. I can see a couple of years helping out his old friend Contador would be an appealing end to his career...

Agreed. Samu and Lulu both can contribute in WT points and Riis can really use that with Contador being worth 0 points. If that's the case, Saxo will have increase its budget.
