Team Sky looks back at 2010

Decent story over at VN looking back at 2010 and what they need to on a go forward basis. I especially liked the quote on the home page by Brailsford, I can't help to think he knew exactly what he was saying. He said,

"We got all the peas just right, but neglected the steak," says team partner Dave Brailsford

But i do think next year wigo will surprise others and perform better in the Tour. And i think Uran is a steal. Will get them victories. As will EBH. theyve got the worst possible season out of the way.

I agree with Hitch they will do much better next year after this years humble pie - although it was not a total fail.

DB seriously underestimated the opposition and their attitude to marginal gains IMO

A bit more focus on hard races with cobbles and shorter stage races and getting some wins in there will be good for the riders and MUST be done before they go for the big prizes

Not gonna happen. It's th Tour all the way for him it seems. The plan next year is to ride for results early in the season in March and April and then take a break in May before starting the Tour preparations and riding more traditional preparation events like Dauphine instead of the Giro.

I know Italian teams can often be chaotic and disorganized but Columbia ought to be rather well organized so it can't be that really can it?

lol. Giro for Wiggins. Thats like telling Cuddles his best chance at a monument is Milan San Remo. Giro has the biggest baddest mountains and few tt km. Even if he was at his peak, he will just lose too much time to the climbers.

Ha, there may not be a Tour if that happens (with all the +'s they'd have from this year). Anyhow I believe I read somewhere that blood bags without that particular plasticizer have already been developed.

I was thinking this could happen to Uran too. He's (not without reason) touted as the next big thing, but a change of culture could disturb his normal level. You see that often when Southern European (or South American) cyclists sign for an Anglosaxen team. They need a year to adapt. I'm curious how Luisle Sanchez will fit with Rabobank for this reason also.

You're right, but I guess the original poster meant that the general level is lower at the Giro. There's Nibali and Basso... Wiggo could very well content for places right behind those two.
But alas.. Wiggins is gonna target the Tour indeed.

Ya, hopefully he's expecting something of a change. Part of his reason for moving is that he was impressed by their organization etc but who knows how much insight he could have right now.

Luis Leon will have Freire, Garate and Barredo at Rabo to keep him company. He'll be fine, I imagine.

The Tour is also very hot at times. The Giro is harder racing no question but I reckon Wiggans could target this race and leave the Tour to Uran and Lovqvuist.

No, Wiggins is best in the Tour, like many others have said before me on this thread. The giro will be a beast again this year, especially with the Zoncolan, and I don't see why Wiggins should try a perhaps harder Giro if he could do the Tour instead.
