Everything went better than expected, still 5th, despite scoring only 74 points :)
It's alays nice when unusual picks like Dehaes or Cousin do well in these types of races, congrats to those who picked them!

This should keep me safe next week, just hoping these climbers will take the race a bit serious:

Tour de Med:
ROLLAND Pierre
PINOT Thibaut
TAARAMAE Rein
HUSHOVD Thor
SCHLECK Andy
DEKKER Thomas
BOBRIDGE Jack
MOLLEMA Bauke
VANMARCKE Sep
CHAVES RUBIO Johan Esteban

A shame this race is only 2.1 though, looking at the field 2.HC would be appropriate.

Completely missed Roux, remembered him two days or so before the deadline but somehow did not include him.

Also, don't go back to check how your first drafts are doing so far. Frustrating to see which safe bets I excluded just to get some "maybe top scorers" into the team.

Qatar
Thomas
Cancellara
Eijssen
Breschel
Appollonio
Chainel

Mallorca
Rojas Gil
Anton
Kuijswijk
Langeveld
Cattaneo

Méditerranéen
Hushovd
Eijssen
Schleck
Bobridge
Sicard
Bole

I thought I had Coquard, I was certain of it... looking at my team I didn't have him. Epic failure.

Body feeling good for 1st day here Challenge Mallorca, boys were bloody great. Unfortunately just got caught out with 500m to go.

Matthews finished 20ish and Howard a dozen further back, probably had an inexperienced sprinter leading out an inexperienced sprinter. In any case Howard is overrated imo. Has to be around the Davis/Keukeleire mark with Goss/Kruopis/Matthews ahead.

I like Howard and selected him - and he just won a 1.1 race :p

But yeah a lot of competition for protected sprinter places at Ogre for sure.

Grrrrr Farrar:mad:

Hope he doesn't become this years' Boonen.

I hope he does :D but he probably won't. Though because only ~30 people picked him a slightly lesser score than boonen may still have a pretty big impact.

Lol what is Matthews doing not earning me points :(

Hoping my team at Mallorca does better when the hills come next two days.

Nice for those who picked Howard though, I suppose he has the potetial to be quite a good pick.

Almost in the top 5 high scorers of the week and up 25 places to 16th, it was a good week thanks to my French riders. Furthermore Rojas seems back on track so things are looking good. I'm a bit concerned about Farrar though. Hopefully he will do like Fenn last year, great in Mallorca and invisible the rest of the year

Well with Howard and Rojas I think I had my first decent result this year. Hopefully arresting my 24 place plummet from last week

I certainly have no problems with the Farrar-Rojas 2-3 today, and they both already have over 100 points, so great. But I do have a problem with last-minute exclusion (from my team) and last-year disappointment Howard actually showing his stuff over my main pick Matthews. Gawd, Greenedge bugs me.

Really like the Mallorca races though, every year they surprise a bit and give showcase to a variety of talents.

And they're worth far too many points. A flat criterium through Palma = Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.

Have to say I agree (not that KBK is the best 1.1 though :D )

Did anyone know Hepburn was riding track this year? He did the Nationals and has now been selected for the Worlds.

I didn't pick him but that ought to be disappointing to those who did.

I picked him because i read that he was focussing on the road this year.
Then he did'nt ride the tt nationals and are instead focusing on track worlds. Starting to get woried. Hope it just means a late start to the road season, track season ends in late february.

So i am diasapointed but still think he can get around 200-300 points in small races with an timetrial. But truly expected him to already be into profit after the austalian timetrial championship.

How many cq points does he get for a 4 km pursuit world gold medal?

But i actualy understand his decision to take on a last worldchampionship on the track and defend i WC title in pursuit. He is still young and have plenty of time to ride the road race calendar.

But still not good for his cq point tally.
