lol. who could that 1000+ rider be :p

seems like its risky to include a rider with that many points, in case he fails completely. But of course he could also double his points probably in the best case scenario.

I reckon it's very unlikely he'll fail completely. He'll always score a decent amount of points. And he'll race la vuelta next year.

I think it's probably Froome. ;)

A 1000+ point rider is definitely a big risk. But pick the right one and the gains can be great. Last year for example the top 3 had included such 1000+ point riders as Sagan, Cancellara, Gilbert, and Cavendish. You just have to have confidence in them to improve on or at the very least equal those 1000+ points.

I included 1 1000+ rider in my team, a rider who I know will reach heights of probably scoring over 2000 in the years ahead. I just hope he begins reaching those heights this year.

Wow. You picked Horner. Such a bold move.

I think im gonna gamble on a 1000+ rider myself, and hope he is ready to step up into the 2000+ club.

Dont think its the same as your guy though Afrank.

I warned you last year you overrate tj when you said he'd podium the tour;)

2000 requires a special season. Even cancellara has never made it. In this sport hierarchy can change quick too. There's no guarantee anyone who isn't there yet will get there.

You just wait, it's only a matter of years before we see him winning PN, Romandie, the Dauphine, the Tour, and 2nd in worlds TT (to Phinney of course). :p

New to this game, so no idea if my strategy will be a winning one :)
Hoping for some cheap guys to make some good progress:

0: 5 riders
1-99: 9 riders
100-199:7 riders
200-299: 3 riders
300-399: 5 riders
400-499: 0 riders
500-999: 3 riders
1000+: 1 rider

Good luck everybody!

I rediscovered the forums just in time, I'm actually surprised I'm not too late to send in a team.

But I haven't been following cycling all that much since Euskaltel folded, so it will be very tough not to miss some very obvious picks.

No it doesn't. At least not anymore.

And Canc is a bad example. He has never scored much.

How much does Di Gregorio cost?

Since he was never charged officially does that mean his 2013 score counts?

Just submitted my team

0 / 0
1-99 / 7
100-199 / 8
200-299 / 9
300-499 / 8
500+ / 1

Good luck and happy new year to all!

Finally pulled the trigger after revamping almost everything again. Some guys might have a low chance improving, some guys might be a complete mistake to select, but I ended up with a quite well rounded team, which should be fun to follow.

I'm sorry guys/gals, but i'm in and intend on taking out this years title.

Learnt my lesson from a strong start and then fading debut season last year.

1 rider between 0 - 10
10 riders 11 - 100
8 riders 101 - 200
11 riders 201-500
3 riders 501-1000
and 0 riders plus 1000

I'm not sure if the wife is playing again after last year and her last place finish !!! I'll ask her when i get home.

the youth game needs a winner for 2014 too if you want to double up?

so just a reminder about the deadline for the youth game which is 9PM CET Sunday 5th January. Lots of people have entered both which is great, and I am very pleased to take more entries.

With the deadline approaching too for this game (11.59pm CET Sunday), I urge all entries between now and the deadline to ensure they are within budget (accounting for any small changes in CQ scores in the last weeks) and submit the team in the correct format (as laid out in the first post), as skidmark will have to field a large amount of last minute entries, and we should show our appreciation for his efforts with the game, by making that process as easier as possible.

Tell your wife I'm sure to finish behind her, I know my team sucks. By the way nice avatar I'm from Cleveland home of the Indians. Good luck

Team submitted. I've taken a few risks, especially with some of the riders I've left out.

0: 6 riders
1-99: 10 riders
100-199: 7 riders
200-299: 2 riders
300-399: 4 riders
400+: 4 riders

This year I'm aiming to finish inside the top 100, after my horrible 2013. So here goes nothing!

The score distribution:
<101: 14
101-200: 7
201-400: 7
400< : 5

Just submitted my team.

Took some big risks, the biggest one spending 1/3 of the budget on two riders.

Looking forward to see the other teams.

Those four riders will have to be some expensive ones!
