Yeah, my hope for the week basically lies with my guys in Australia. So far, I have scored a grand total of... *checks notes*

Can't believe my luck in AlUla today. Was looking like a Dunbar disaster and lots of points for my competitors, but Vansevenant and Vermaerke both lost out quite a bit. And even if Dunbar didn't get any real points, he did at least show some signs of life today.

I feel like these Remco points won't make or break him as a pick, so I'm not too worried about that. If I go around hoping Remco won't score anywhere, it's gonna be a frustrating season for me. And Morgado is doing well enough in Mallorca for me anyway.
I think the issue with Remco coming here is all the points he deprived from the January team leaders who might not get chances to win elsewhere on the calendar when it’s not even a notable victory for Remco given what he has already achieved.

Brennan's Australian adventure pretty much turned out neutral, maybe with a small plus. He was not good at positioning in TDU but still ended up getting some points, then the Surf Coast Classic was cancelled which was quite a blow, and then he looked really good at CEGORR but missed out on the win (and 76 points) due to launching too early. But at least he showed a great level last night. Very promising.

So, the Australian Summer for me can basically be summed up as:
"Lund, Kron, and Charmig did great... and C. Pedersen was there too."

Zana has started out very well. He did cross my mind, and kudos to those who picked him.

In other news, Vansevenant might turn out to have been a great pick as well.

Hopefully, the presence of Mads Pedersen in Valenciana will help me get some actual point-points in Europe next week.

De Schuyteneer with a better rider for his first race day of 2026 than the entire 2025 season when I had him on my team. That's some elite trolling on his part. Respect.

It seems like most of the really unlucky events are for once hitting riders not on my team or are even benefitting my team.
Man, I gotta stop jinxing myself. There was one single crash in Trofeo Palma, and of course it was Noah Hobbs who was really well placed for the sprint.

The way he bridged across to the small group that attacked after the last uphill section was a highly promising sign for the classics ahead. If his team had shown up then he might have won but as a demonstration of form it was there for all to see.

Regarding website, https://www.cqmanager.com, as it's live now for a short while.

Does it work ok? It seems to when I look at it myself but haven't kept a close eye on it.
It´s working very well. I like especially the new features about the upcoming races!

Just one small thing. When you click on a rider, you see a list of all players, who have this rider on his team. (Which is good!) But instead of seeing the points and the rank of the player, you see the points of rider, which is basically in every row the same. Would make more sense, if you see in this list the player point and rank information (as it was the case in the old website).

So first month is done.

Right now in 5th place overall, without having a big scorer like Brennan, Morgado or Vine in my team. So things doesn´t look that bad for me until now.

Positive side:
Steinhauser had been pretty impressive in Mallorca and is already nearly into profit.
Biesterbos showed some great signs. Hopefully in the classics, he will be able to score.
Brenner is in good form. His schedule looks good, so up to his way to become a good pick.
Kron: Even if he would crash again hard and would miss the rest of the season. He is already at 300% of his 2025 value. Hopefully he will stay on his bike for the rest of the season. Would really wish him that!
Pithie also seems to be in good form, so hopefully he will gain a few more points in the New Zealand nationals and brings his form than to Europe.
Vansevenant next race will be Oman. Also there I can see him scoring. With his points in Saudi-Arabia he is already nearly at 50% of his 2025 value.

Negative side:
Mas was still completely out of form in Mallorca. He said, that he wants to be in form again in Catalunya, which means, that he will not be in form yet at his next race in UAE. Of course, it´s very early, but still for his cost of 560 points, one would wish that he scores in every race, where he participates..

O'Connor: Well, he scored at least 105 points in the Australian campaign, which is not that bad. But still the way how he rode, was not really impressive for rider, where you hope that he will gain nearly 1000 points during the year.

So basically of my cheaper picks had a good start (especially good, that with Brenner, Steinhauser and Biesterbos rarer ones are in that list), but the aside from Seixas most expensive picks I am a bit concerned about right now.

I, for one, would like to congratulate the riders who I thought about picking but did not (Zana, Pithie, Brenner) and the riders I picked last year who performed badly and who I decided to not pick this year (Kron, Glivar) for their great starts to the season. :sob:

The story of my week is people scoring far fewer points than they should have from the situations they were in. Vansevenant yesterday was the most annoying (in part because it's the only one I watched live), but Lamperti and Thijssen only managing 12th and a relegation respectively from groups where I could count the number of sprinters on one hand today was also quite disappointing. At least Brennan didn't win and Pithie scored less than he did at the same race last year...

The story of my next week might well be not having anyone in action. Nobody listed yet in Valencia, only Crabbe on the provisional startlist of Bessèges (makes me sad to see how weak that field is, organisers don't deserve that at all), only Vansevenant and Zingle listed so far in Oman. Obviously there will be some additions but it looks like I have some more ground to lose.
