A nice Monday morning surprise - I'm sitting at the top of the CQGame web ranking, so keeping a snapshot of that!

A good week. My score wasn't based on any clever, very rare picks. Rather it was based on me picking the correct combination of popular picks (Tiberi (rarish), Seixas, Eetvelt, Martinez, Laporte, Cosnefroy).

Not too sure how the team is going to do as we more into the cobbled classics. Hoping Laporte is not injured, Teutenberg is better at the classics than pure sprinting and Pithie better than last year. Also looking for Morgado to continue farming the points.

Let's hope the illness that forced him out of Algarve doesn't hamper him. That's exactly how he lost form for the classics last year.
Agree. His points total is looking good so far, but it’s not too dissimilar to what he had this time last year. Just need him to keep going through spring

Just looked up your team and right now it looks quite promising for you.

I don´t see an absolute must pick, that you missed and your selection of the expensive riders Tiberi, Morgado, Seixas, Uijtdebroeks seems to be one of the most promising right now...

Will depend on riders like AWP and Nys, if you will be able to stay on the top, but right now I don´t see a reason, why you shouldn´t stay there..

Thanks.

Happy with the team make-up at the moment, but every team is a couple of injuries away from disaster.

Think I'm relying on Tiberi, Uijtebroeks and (maybe) Landa for long-term success, as these are rarer picks who have potential to score well or not at all (in the case of Uijtebroeks and Landa).

Agree I should be concerned about Nys, but also Plapp looks good and even Ayuso, who could score heavily in one week and one day events. Overall, just great to be thinking about how to stay near the top!

I hadn't even seen that he's there too, a little bit insane how interesting this one is going to be for the game.
@Shakes website tells us, that 26 picked riders are participating. The following ones should be the most important ones for this game, as they are the most expensive and also the most popular ones.

Looks like Rwanda won't be a complete cakewalk for Pau Marti. Down to 12th in GC after losing close to a minute today.

Update #6: Smooth week for Rufs

A lot of action this week, and the scores were commensurate. Three big early season stage races and a few 1-days combined to get scores nearly touching the four digits - let's see how it shook out!

This Week's Top Scorers

RankTeamPoints this week
1Rufs951
2peixotini943
3Hugo Koblet907
4slow_climber859
5ingsve821

It was close at the top, with Rufs pulling out the win by less than 1% of their team's winning score of 951 points. This was thanks to big weeks from a combo of rare and popular riders, namely Antonio Tiberi (301 points, 16 teams), Paul Seixas (150, 73), Lennert Van Eetvelt (128, 68), Jan Christen (98, 2) and Paul Lapeira (80, 2). Second on the week goes to peixotini, who had Tiberi and Van Eetvelt, as well as rare pick Jonathan Milan (185, 2). Game founder Hugo Koblet landed in third with Tiberi/Seixas/Van Eetvelt as well as Jorgen Nordhagen (94, 22).

This Week's High Movers

RankTeamUp/down
1Hugo Koblet(+42)
2hayneplane(+36)
3Kazistuta(+25)
4vickyriso(+24)
4Bicycle_Boy(+24)

The only returnee from the previous ranking's podium is Hugo, who steps up to the top spot with a massive 42 point jump in the standings this week. hayneplane gets the second spot by moving up 36 spots thanks to the Tiberi/Seixas/Van Eetvelt trio plus Derek Gee-West (104, 4), and Kazistuta rounds out this podium by moving up 25 spots (Tiberi/Seixas/Van Eetvelt).

Green Jersey Competition

RankTeamTotal
1slow_climber97
2karaev92
3Pantani4ever79
4peixotini70
5Rufs67

Slow Climber follows up last week's win with another top 5 finish, compiling Green Jersey points and taking the top spot. Last week's leader karaev is out of the top 15 this week and so scores no points, as does previous leader Pantani4ever, while peixotini and Rufs climb into the top 5.

Top 10 Overall

1(+2)slow_climber2171
2(+9)Rufs2137
3(-2)Pantani4ever2043
4(+4)ingsve2025
5(+19)peixotini2021
6(-4)karaev2014
7(-1)jsem942005
8(-1)postmanhat1930
9(+9)repre1921
10(-6)Shakes1908

Pantani4ever falls out of the top spot, despite a decent week (32nd on the week) it's not enough with this level of competition. Slow Climber and Rufs put together a few solid weeks to claim the top 2 spots, but it's close at the top. peixotini and repre blast into the top 10 at the expense of Popchu and Wvv.

This week is a bit quieter to begin with - a few riders in the game are in action at the Tour of Rwanda and a few more starting Wednesday at the Giro di Sardegna. But of course the weekend is none other than Opening Weekend! The Omloop is on Saturday with KBK on Sunday, and of course the points-filled undercard of the two 1.PS races in France. The season is on!
