AWP crashed out again. Hopefully not a long term injury but his first half of the season is looking like a write-off. Meanwhile Mads P apparently back surprisingly early. Maybe the best us AWP owners can hope for is farming some smaller races and a repeat of his debut season backend.

So far, he's always done his scoring after the spring classics, so his path back to the 300s is still reasonably obvious. That being said, the chances of him surpassing that range for the first time are probably gone if he can't turn his legs into points soon.
He'll begin to win next year when i won't pick him. Been there...

Somebody from last year's wonderkinds had to have a bad season. Seems like AWP is a bad luck victim here

Time for Mads Pedersen's season debut 2.0.

117th Milano-San Remo

Mads Pedersen
Tobias Lund Andresen
Magnus Cort Nielsen
Mikkel Frølich Honoré
Søren Kragh Andersen
Casper Philip Østergaard Pedersen
Kasper Asgreen
Anders Foldager
Michael Valgren Hundahl
William Blume Levy
Mathias Sunekær Norsgaard

Statistically, I should get a few guys in top-10

(Okay, Tudor and Unibet haven't published their teams yet, but I don't think Changizi or Larsen are gonna be selected.)

I'm going to need more points out of soft 1.Pro sprints featuring both Thijssen and Crabbe (yes, I know he has a broken finger) than that...

Brennan out of MSR due to sickness. Good f*cking grief.
Have been relatively lucky so far, but MSR is beginning to look like the start of a bonfire of the vanities for my three, expensive fanboy choices. All in on Mohoric now, who will almost certainly be a luxury pick without a result here. And Berckmoes's spring schedule is terrible in terms of this game.

Thijssen is consistently out of position. Huge dissapointment so far. Maybe he'll improve later in the season, but right now he can lose his spinter numba 3 role with this performances

My team for Sanremo:

Laporte
Vinokurov
Dihnam
Zambanini

A shame to only have 4 riders, but if we get a clean sweep of the podium it won't matter too much.

I also have unique pick merwahi kudus riding the teres de l'ebre classic today. Hoping he can have a good ride.

Add Mas to the pile of popular expensive picks who are going to have an average return at best. If Seixas didn't exist, I genuinely think none of us would double our score.

Sosa into green after only two race days. We'll see if he'll return to being mediocre for the rest of the year now.

And then 280 points fall in to my lap out of nowhere.

Happy to be proved wrong by Berckmoes :) He could have a decent spring, despite his schedule.

Catalunya

Oof. With such a strong startlist, this might not go well for those of us with underperforming riders:

O'Connor
Gaudu
Rodriguez
Gee
Steinhauser
L'Hote

Hoping Gee's mediocre performance on Thursday was just shaking off the cobwebs. He's probably my main differentiator and there's some longer climbs here which should suit him. Given their year so far, a top ten from the first three would be a big bonus.

It's fairly high up, but the most common highest-scoring week of the season (as well as the week with the highest weekly scores of all time) is Vuelta GC week, which coincides with the Canadian double-header, Fourmies and one of the busiest weeks of Italian autumn races (five of them on the current schedule). This week is not close to competing with that, and there are a couple of others that beat it too.

With a stacked GC competition in Catalunya and with Vingegaard on the roster I doubt there will be any room for Nordhagen to do anything in the GC. . Unless they actually allow him to ride his own race for some reason. We should probably be lucky if he finishes top-20.
