He actually has a decent kick. But always finds himself in position where someones faster. Hes at that point where GVA was a couple of years ago.

Agreed, his finish is not bad at all. I don't know about Villalobos, but Escuela used to be a bunch sprinter (with a decent TT and on/off climbing prowess) and rode on the track often

Last year he beat Guardini in the bunch sprint. And Villalobos was faster at least today. Not easy for Benoot to beat that even though his sprint is decent. That said, Villalobos did absolutely nothing in Europe last year

At some point, it gets to your head. And even if you don't go on CN or other sites, you know that people joke at your expense. You second guess, over commit, whatever, and lose one more. Vicious circle.

Being versatile ≠ being a winner unless you are Gilbert, Valverde, Sagan, GVA or Kwiatkowski.

There are plenty of versatile riders without any major wins. In fact, most versatile riders don't really have any wins.
