This guy is all about reaction! I sincerely hope LA calls him out for the douchebag he is and tells him to f-off. Maybe he will try to "run down" a cyclist who sports a Glock.

Anyone remember this assclown on MNF!?

Remember??? DUde he was so terrible on MNF how could you NOT remember him. He's a washed up, no talent, ignorant, jackass that needs to get a clue.

I have despised this jackass for so long...and now this! How many times does he have to prove his ignorance!? Makes me want to bike in DC!

Kornhole called Wonderboy today to apologize/grovel for forgiveness. Lance is going to be on the show tomorrow......he is the Jesse Jackson of cycling, whenever you do something stupid you need to kiss his ring.

I hope Lance makes him sweat, give him "The Look"

I will go out on a limb here, but Kornheiser's past performance suggests that in these situations, Korny will suck up to Lance and it will become a mutual derriere kissing fest. I'll look for a blurb online for their brief chat, as I don't want to listen to the show and inadvertently raise the show's ratings. Did I mention Kornheiser is an idjit?

Good to see Armstrong using his celebrity status to take on this moron's idiotic take on cycling lanes.

Yeah, don't expect anything important to come out of this. I hope they don't have pastries in the green room, Lance has to work on that belly!

RR that is good comparison. The Ball is like a strong arm for hire but really he is a strong arm for self promotion. Hey don’t talk too loud because ChrisE may get his bromance ruffled? He is already pizzed at Matthew Mc. and “College” for taking his time with the Ball away. LMAO

I too applaud Bob Roll's calm and dispassionate reflections on the really stupid conversation that the ESPN folks had. There is a transcript here: http://http://www.thewashcycle.com/2010/03/tony-kornheiser-allegedly-condones-running-down-cyclists.html

Putting aside the encouragement of hitting cyclists with your car, I must say that I have never understood the anti-cyclists' hatred of spandex shorts. It must be some sort of projection of an inner fetish. Now that could be an interesting thread topic!

I first heard about TKs comments this morning when I saw that Lance was going on his radio show to "discuss" them. I put discuss in qoutes based on LAs twitter comments and the fact he has the stomach flu, which to me signals that he won't be in a very friendly mood. That being said I do want to find either a podcast or stream of the show. Good for Bobke for using his platform for telling TK how it is. We really ought not to be surprised by this sort of statement especially coming from someone associated with ESPN. Isn't the 'E' supposed stand for everything? If so then why is it that they seem to cover the Big 4 Football, Nascar, Baseball, and Texas Hold 'Em poker.

Let's hope that TK gets a very serious reprimand from ESPN up to and including threatening to fire him over this.

As for the spandex shorts comment. I think Bobke hit it on the head inadvertantly when he said cyclists are some of the fittest people out there. We are probably seen as flaunting overselves and thus on some level make others feel bad about themselves. Its my theory as to why Nascar is so popular and cycling isn't. Both are sponsor driven sports and both involve high speed, teamwork and stunning crashes. Yet cycling isn't popular here in the states but Nascar is because all you have to do is drive a car really fast really well. Whereas riding a bike takes a lot more effort and yes I am aware that driving a car at those speeds has its inherent physical requirements, but you don't see that whereas in cycling you do.

Kornheiser's anti-cyclist rant and Armstrong's tweet

Well, I'm a big fan of the show PTI--tivo and watch it daily. I'm not a fan at all of Lance and his usually inane, mistruth-sodden tweets. But today (or whenever) he got it right, calling out Kornheiser for his ridiculous anti-cyclist comments.

http://trueslant.com/timzimmermann/...er/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

There's a form (linked in the article) where you can complain to the radio station management if you feel so inclined. Highly suggest you read the article and listen to Kornheiser's crapola.

I would not assume Lance has the stomach flu just because he said so. Simply his excuse to pull out of MSR.

Glad he's showing up on PTI, but if you know that show, they're going to softball one another and get chummy.

I hope Wilbon RAKES him over the coals when he tries to kiss Armstrong's derrier.

According to South Park, you have to kiss much more than his ring...

I heard the show, and Kornheiser came off believably sorry for what he said. Lance didn't beat the crap out of him, but was stern with his point. Water under the bridge is my suggestion for everyone involved.

I suppose that the folks at ESPN also reminded Tony of the Clear Channel fiasco of a few years ago, when two radio personalities where fired for the same type of behavior. I ended up calling a local sports radio personality who I enjoyed listening to until he and his callers started going on a similar rant. When I reminded him about what happened to his coworkers, the conversation went mute in a hurry. Low and behold, that station was also Clear Channel owned.

Uh oh. There's alot of potential here for alot of the posters to be on the same side of an issue as LA. I'm sure some heads will explode over this dilemma. :D

Maybe the LA hate crowd will be pro-running down cyclists now.

You really have NOTHING to say.

Nothing.

Congratulations!

Oh hell! I think Race Radio's must be buying up duct-tape to prevent his head from exploding. I am sure he would agree that the KornHollyO is a jackass who should have not said run over cyclist. Let's see how the RR play's this out!

A little projecting here?

Race Radio seems like a pretty bright guy who can hold two seemingly opposing viewpoints in his head at the same time.

You'd do well to try the same.

That last sentence really struck me. "Kornheiser also admitted several times that he's "old."
I guess age and wisdom don't always walk hand in hand. Nothing bigger than that all powerful word.. RATINGS!
