Funny stuff indeed. Of course, when you're on the inside, a lot of our speculations about doping, protected riders, UCI corruption etc. might seem funny because, I guess, we might miss a few pieces of the puzzle.

On the other side, I have yet to see that the 'clinic' gets it completely wrong. Sadly a lot of speculations turn out to be uncomfortably close to the truth.

I don't know if this thread will last or not but I have to make an observation.

I've often come across disparaging remarks about "forums" and "blogs" by both athletes and administrators in pro cycling. Whereas in my field of expertise, where plenty of forums exist, I never participate, observe or even glance at them because I realized long, long ago that almost all of the information was so convoluted and misguided that it had no bearing on reality and didn't offer anything informative. I am not the least bit drawn to them in any way, shape or form.

And yet these people in cycling, who do mock or criticize, in a very public way, all share one thing that the very title of this thread implies: They are watching. Why is that?

What pieces of which puzzle are you still missing after Floyd's interview?

I guess those who continue to insist that the rumors about AC and LA are just rumors, and insist that hard proof is missing, are indeed missing several pieces of the puzzle.

I'm going to get a warning for that last post, so I'll just apologize in advance.

yeah, I guess I will, too. I really tried to keep it g-rated.

My more serious thoughts are as follows:

-about 99% of bike racers simply aren't smart enough to post on twitter. I'm not, and I'm a lot smarter than most of the other guys. I swear there should be a 24 hour filter were your "tweet" has to sit out there and then you go back and read what you spewed out earlier, then decide if you really want the world to read it

-it's obvious from reading the comments of these guys, and the comment of Landis, that once guys become so imbued into the culture of elite European cycling that they really do submit fully to a sense of moral relativism, where they come to believe their own lies, or more so don't even see them as lies. Then they look at those on the "outside" with a sense of disdain and justify their behavior with the line that "they can't possibly understand".

I understand. Guys who dope are cheaters. Justify it any way you want, but that's the bottom line.

I think they still want the world to work like it used to when they could make fatuous statements that would be packaged into bland articles by an unquestioning and lazy media. The advent of social media has allowed everything they say to be pulled apart, analyzed, and compared to their previous statements in a way that traditional media would never dare.

Thus Wigans finds it "funny" when his adulation of Armstrong is compared with his earlier stance on doping and people conclude that the two are not compatible, which effectively calls him out as a liar. Maybe he can get his wife to come here and defend his stupid comments to the press.

And they say Americans can't do sarcasm.

Funny bunch aren't they. They aren't bothered that their livelihoods and race winnings are under threat by doping so keep quiet on that but take away race radios or criticize them on a forum and they come out in force.

They need to get out of the pro cycling bubble and smell the coffee.

Let's get to the real scandal here: BlackBerry????

So does this mean HTC (you know, the team's title sponsor) won't be paying his salary this quarter?

Just sayin'

i bet these guys cant get enough of the place. bet it's the talk amongst the english speaking members of the peloton after they discussed what dope they are using:D and i bet they slag each other over it as well as wince inside when reading.

Kimmage's mention of CN means the clinic is read regularly by them. Esp Wiggins and it hurts otherwise why comment. When i read someone who gets slagged say how "funny stuff", you know that's the last thing they find it.

as for Wiggins analogy, 'traffic wardens', well they dont give tickets unless they are right and you are parked in the wrong, so the clinic is not too far from knowing what goes on;)

I got chewed-out by "Turbo" within 20 minutes of one of my first posts to this forum. He either read it or someone saw it and then immediately sent it to him.

They watch (or their minions do).

I woujld love it if Wiggins in particular read the posts on here. And unlike others on here when confronted with the person they are criticising, I certainly would have no problem outlining his hypocrisy and downright dishonesty. So easy to criticise the Morenis and Riccos of the world Bradley.
And i also would like to speak to JV about several aspects of the Landis interview, not to mention his hiring of Mr Rice Cakes.

Someone on the outside has had enough interest to try to get into personal accounts here. 1 time posters seeking special information through PM's suggest the concern is real.

So either it's breach of contract or just spitting in the hand that feeds you?

And that in a tweet insulting other people...

They're not deities. When the racing season hasn't even started yet, they get home from riding and they pretty much just veg-out. They're just like you and I, and they hang out on the net wherever they hang-out.

We make a lot of noise. People talk about it. So they want to know what we're saying about them. Simple.

Even Lance reads it from time to time. I remember him twittering his agreement with a VN post fairly recently.

tell that to some of uniballer's fanboys:D

for sure they read what's on here. but if i was them i would avoid the place like the plague having the dirt of your sport dissected and debated cant be pleasant. it reinforces the hypocricy, the lies and worst of all the danger to one's finances and health never mind ego

a pretty big fat +1 for expanding that analogy
