well that aged well

No one is in the Big Group unless and until they win big constantly . Being a young contender is not yet there

1. Pog
2. MvP
3. Vingegaard
4. WVA
5. Remco

only 5 at present
Rog maybe needs to move out and Remco could keep the chair warm for the newcomers
Besides ITT, when was Remco's last big win? 2024?

LOL! I almost came back here to beg forgiveness, but you beat me to it.

Few could be happier than than me with today's result, but I still have him out of the group and putting him ahead of Remco is just plain silly (and speaks to your bias) since Remco is way more versatile and way higher in points scored. If 2022 TDF WVA reappears, then we can talk.

I'm not biased against Remco I just dont see him as big as the other 4 if you takeout TT which I kinda disregard ..

Van Aert's supposed fans have been busy belittling him in the Paris-Roubaix thread. Although I suppose the intention behind most of the posts was the opposite. Nobody believed that Van Aert was suddenly not a favorite in a sprint and was an outsider, because that's what some of the posts implied.

Big Five.

Rog and WVA are no longer in the stratosphere.

Dropping Pogacar uphill in Paris on what was, I would guess, the most watched bike race in 2025 last year (correct me if I'm wrong; I didn't look this up), beating Pogacar head-to-head in Paris-Roubaix, ending his streak of 4 Monuments in a row...

If Roglic is out due to lack of recent wins, I guess Wout is in and MVDP is out then, too.

Seixas and Del Toro are good candidates but let them win a monument, GT or WC first before considering them.
Well, that's one way of looking at it.
On the other hand...

Del Toro, UCI points wise, is #2 in the last 12 months.
Seixas is #2 taking only 2026 into account and already #11 considering the last 12 months.

Let's not forget that during the last 3 years, half of the "past top6" combined barely won any monument/GT/WC.

Seixas is 2nd.
Sure, I just meant that even Seixas is on the limit as he has doesn't yet have the results to back it up but is obviously alien quality.

Del Toro I don't think has shown alien quality. He's a strong but flawed rider (human, almost 2010s type).

Yeah, that list is kinda stupid when we don't see Vingegaard there. If we look to the last 5 years, Vingegaard is clearly a top3 rider.
