Well now that Arri is gone there is at least hope that Movistar DSing can be a bit less farcial. He should be warned that just because you ride for Movistar doesn't mean the Movistar DSes will stop sabotaging you.

Carapaz should ask for Sciandri in his contractHe should be warned that just because you ride for Movistar doesn't mean the Movistar DSes will stop sabotaging you.
or Pablo, he's pretty good.Carapaz should ask for Sciandri in his contract
Nice pickup for QS, don’t know what this will do for the big classics other than Gent Wevelgem, but nonetheless good move for both parties. It looks like Merlier is heading to QS. I guess pretty much everyone saw this coming.
Depends what they are paying him. He will be a big upgrade on a declined Keisse but if they want him to replace Stybar etc then he has not looked like a decent card in the final of a classic for a long timeAccording to the podcast-panel in De Rode Lantaarn Mike Teunissen is negotiating a deal with Quick Step Alpha Vinyl... Not the rider they need imo.
CN transfer story points of interest (some have already been said here):
- "Cyclingnews understands that Ineos Grenadiers have already struck a deal with 22-year-old Dutch talent Thymen Arensman, who will transfer from Team DSM for 2023."
- "Carapaz is open to offers and is in talks with Movistar and three other teams
- van Baarle "has agreed a three-year contract for close to two million Euros a season with Jumbo-Visma."
- Yates linked with BikeExchange
- "Dunbar was not selected for the Giro d’Italia despite his climbing skills and overall victory at the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. He has been linked to BikeExchange-Jayco and Jumbo-Visma."
- "Martinez has been linked to a move to Movistar alongside Carapaz as the Spanish team look to replace Alejandro Valverde."
- "Richie Porte will retire at the end of the 2022 season and the Giro d’Italia is his final Grand Tour"

Not that harsh IMO. Off the top of my head he won a week-long WT stage race (but if he hadn't been there Porte and Thomas would still have been 1st and 2nd!) and got 4th at the Vuelta (but if he hadn't been there, Bernal would still have been 5th!).
I would assume this is the nail on the coffin for Cav at QS.
Not sure how much room there was at Alpecin for both him and Philipsen. That said, I assume this deal was worked out before Alpecin's move to WT and Deceuninck sponsorship -- I'm not sure I would have left an up and coming team to go ride for Lefevere, who all of a sudden isn't looking quite so invinceable.
It will be interesting to see how QS handle having Jakobsen and Merlier. There isn’t an obvious hierarchy there.
Jakobsen is more durable but I wouldn’t say he’s faster than Merlier.Jakobsen is the faster sprinter.
I guess Cav to Israel would make the most sense. They have the train, without a top tier sprinter to go on the end of it. Probably have the cash too. Where else even seems like a potential fit?
A world famous train that has been given excellent lead-outs, just not to any of their riders...I guess Cav to Israel would make the most sense. They have the train, without a top tier sprinter to go on the end of it. Probably have the cash too. Where else even seems like a potential fit?
Jakobsen is the faster sprinter.
So Ineos could lose Carapaz, Martinez and Van Baarle while Bernal's return to the old form is uncertain.CN transfer story points of interest (some have already been said here):

If he likes getting paid (on time) he wouldnt go near AstanaIf Carapaz is serious about switching teams, He should go to Astana
but like other folks mentioned, It looks like him setting the situation for a salary raise
