And now BEX has confirmed it as well. A solid rider in .2 races, who now gets the chance to earn some more money working for others.

Such a joke, when Sky/Ineos signed Dunbar after AB folded they rightfully made an exception. They are a pretty useless federation...

Their team is already absolutely stacked with riders who are good at these races.

Fortunato is also under contract with Eolo for 2024. He had a lot of offers after his Zoncolan victory but decided to sign another two-year deal instead. So he seems to be happy where he is - or at least still was last year.

Wouldn't Fortunato be a quite handy contender for the Italian fall classics as well? Ulissi isn't getting any younger and UAE still acts like a Italian team on the Italian circuit.

Imo they already have a replacement for Ulissi, Covi can probably fill that role in the coming years (and is a better bike handler). If it's actually a long one day race that is raced hard from far away Formolo is also superior to Ulissi. Not to mention all the non-Italian riders for hilly classics that they have on that team.

I think UAE are absolutely full of riders for hilly classics but they could use Fortunato as a mountain domestique. I don't think they have enough climbers to send first class suport team to all 3 GTs so he could be useful.
