You do realise it's 2024, and top sportsmen are allowed to speak out if things aren't going right? It might not be the done thing in pro cycling, but we know parts of the sport are still in a time warp.

He's also from Yorkshire, where they tell it as it is........
Yeah, but speaking out within the team and doing it via the media are 2 different things. IMO it's a bit unprofessional.

Pidders is an easy target and rightfully so, but EVERY rider on INEOS is underperforming. Those with actual expertise and those who have firm critique on the situation, i.e. Dan Bigham, are going elsewhere. There has to be something majorly wrong within the organisation. Therefore, I will not fall into this trap of cognitive dissonance and look at nothing but Pidders' words, and cannot help but side with him.
 
I believe that there is a rule that any cyclocross team must have both men's and women's sections, and since PFP, their one woman rider has gone, Ineos therefore cannot be a CX team.

So would Pidcock:
a) be given gardening leave to do CX as a quasi-privateer, who just happens to have suspiciously familiar looking sponsors;
b) have Ineos sign a minor female CX rider so that the paperwork can be complete;
c) give in on the muddy side of his career; or
d) leave Ineos?

And where does Red Bora stand on formation of a CX team?

Aren't there riders who just ride CX races without riding for an actual CX team?
Like Merlier, pretty sure he just rides in his regular QS team kit when he does CX.
So, couldn't Pidcock do something similar?
 
Marta Lach to SD Worx was not something I had seen coming. A good pick up for them, as we know they want to have attacking riders, so they don't have to pull behind, and you can't find many riders more aggressive than her.

I think every new signing for SD Worx will be surprise, because there is no rumor of new signings. At least they need one or two more climbers.

I don't know if the Julia Kopecky deal is still on, but it sounds like Kim Le Court has rejected them and will be staying at AGI-QS (perhaps Moolman-Pasio has advised her against moving there).

But I agree that there could be some surprises on the way. With both the Kasia and Cille transfers not happening (I don't know how serious those rumours ever were), their next move could be anything from signing another Femke (Van Den Driessche would be an interesting choice) to bringing Megan Guarnier and Evie Stevens out of retirement.

Not sure Femke every paid her fine, so I guess Danny would have to pay up first.

I was surprised both that Marta would want to join them, no more going for cheeky stage/race wins with them, and that they'd sign her, as she doesnt feel like she fits as an SD Worx rider
 
He's asked a question by the media he answers it, bluntly. That's just classic Yorkshire sports folk. They don't do things by half, and do some stuff that'd make even't Dutch blush.

Unfortunately I can't find it anymore (he probably deleted it) but I'm pretty sure that when Pidcock was coming up, as a junior or still a first year U23, one could find in his personal facebook page some snide remarks about Froome and/or Wiggins and then Team Sky, worthy of being posted in the Cyclingnews forum.

I'm pretty sure I saw it back and I could swear it is not some kind of Mandela effect, same as him doing a road gap in his MTB that vanished from my search engine at the moment.

I assume she'll be getting a pay rise, which is well-deserved. Also I don't think she's much different as a rider than the likes of Markus and Gerritse. She's just stronger than them and isn't fluent in Dutch.

It's a little worrying that Kerbaol is Ceratizit's only confirmed rider for 2025 at this point, but there are other teams that haven't announced many signings or contract extensions yet either.

That good to hear, he’s done well this season and you’d expect him to keep improving as he gets used to top tier racing. He won’t be a star but wouldn’t surprise me if he picks up a GT stage win at some point in his career
He's been given a heavy schedule for a neo-pro: 72 racing days, 5 one week WT stage races and a GT. He's also stated that he had issues with altitude training and was not sure he'd do that again next year.
Overall not a flashy season but I agree there's still room for growth and some results might follow, possibily with a different calendar.

Yes, to be a registered UCI CX team, you have to have a woman on the team; however, it's simpler to not register.

a) he can carry on as before, Ineos won't be mentioned/ shown on the results.
b) I think that's pretty unlikely.
c) possible
d) again, possible.

Now that Red Bull are involved at Bora, I don't think it would be a problem, especially as he's one of their athletes, and currently, only wears their helmet off-road. The Van Dijke twins started off-road, but gave it up when at Visma, maybe they do some for training purposes.
