Big engine on him, he scored a VO2 max of 86 ml/kg/min at 76.5kg a few days before the NC, for a +75kg guy that's a really high relative VO2 max.

Back to the old QS ways of sprinters: buy low, sell high. Worked plenty times in the past. Dainese may not win much, but he can win big, and QS need a Lamperti replacement too.

QS win more races. Dainese gets the train for a few races, get some wins, signs a bigger contract for 2028. Tudor replace him with Mozzato, an equally inconsistent Italian fast man who isn't quite as quick but is a lot more useful in the Classics. Everyone wins.

Merlier, Magnier and Dainese. Lamperti is leaving, probably for EF.

Magnier is still improving and maybe can win big. Even early season, when he was schooled by MVDP at Le Samyn, he was still comfortably ahead of the rest.
Just needs to avoid those crashes.

Landa is a leader in any team bar UAE, Visma or a Soudal with Remco.
Van Wilder is a comfortable top-10 finisher in any WT race bar Bingobongo, solid last man before Landa
Hirt finished top10 in the 2024 Giro, he can't be that bad.

Landa, Van Wilder and Hirt sounds like a proper supporting team in the mountains.
Vervaeke is what he is, dunno what to think of him.

The flat support act of Lampaert, Pedersen and Moscon doesn't sound too shabby at all.


Are they UAE or Visma level? Probably not. But saying they are trash is something else.







This year's Tour was an obvious flop but you can't hardly blame the supporting cast eventhough it is unforgivable to miss an echelon as Quick step.
