He was the only thing remotely resembling a GC rider for whom it was the first GT of the year, and had the riders who finished ahead of him cared about him whatsoever (or the riders behind him had anything in the way of domestiques) he would have lost 5+ minutes on the final mountain stage rather than being let back in after the penultimate climb. That result flatters him massively and I'm willing to bet he will never finish that high in a GT again.

Also, finishing top-5 in a GT doesn't equate to being a GT GC rider. There have been more impressive performances by riders who weren't really GT GC riders - Alaphilippe, Voeckler and Velits come to mind.
that was the same for Lipowitz in the TDF, the others didnt care, it was a slow race, the ones behind were like GALL, ONLEY, the guys in front helped Lipoqitz out by going slow so he could come back etc etc so many other arguments

Mattias beat Lipowitz in the vuelta, importantly, of course he can do that again all day every day

Tour>>>>>Vuelta

The Vuelta can be deceptive for some riders. It's a Grand Tour that doesn't have long mountain climbs or steep ascents. There are many riders who do well in the Vuelta but struggle in other Grand Tours. Enric Mas could be an example. There are several cyclists who have won the Vuelta but have had significant difficulties in the Tour de France.

For me, Lipowitz's third place in that Tour is more significant than Skjelmose's fifth in the Vuelta, which didn't matter to his rivals either.

Why does everyone think Lipowitz will leave RBH? He grew up in the team as a professional rider, he can ride the schedule he wants, and is surrounded by an amazing staff and riders. The only reason I can think of is money, but RBH might just match LIDL’s offer.

Because he'll play second fiddle behind Remco?
I know RBBH are a German team, but a global superstar like Remco is far more marketable than Florian. And if Lidl wants a german superstar do you really believe they'll match it?

What indication is there he would get 0 chance to ride for himself? Even if someone else winds up being better.

Hell, even UAE are allowing Almeida to chase his own GC while working for Pogacar. There's 0 chance Lipowitz would get frozen out of the Tour by being on the same team as Evenepoel.

Lipowitz could be 2021 Vingegaard, a few dozen biathlon fans and German hipsters may comprise his fan base right now but his potential for improvement and trajectory might be huge. Remember the Tour wasn’t even his target, though whether they said that to spare the old man’s feelings is anyone’s guess. Rasenball won’t let him go, besides Lidl have Harry Hudson who is miles better than any of them.

Where did I say that?
He'll be the second man up whenever he and Remco are racing together unless he somehow matches Pog and Vinge level. Remco is the bigger star, the "winner" of the two, and the one with both a monument and a GT on his palmares.

Why would he be second fiddle? I think Lipo will always get leadership status in a race

(Seems PCS misunderstood something. They have her listed as joining the Main Team, not the Devo Team.)

She always looked like a possible signing for them, but that new Team Amani project also seemed like a good fit. If she keeps progressing she probably will join the main team before the end of 2028.

It's women's cycling AND not a traditional cycling country - can't expect anything more from PCS

Yet, their information is usually correct.
And you could even argue they have too many countries in their data base. If you go to their "No Next Season Contract" list, and select 'Nation', Antarctica is an option. Antarctica!
You know... in case you were wondering if there were penguins out of contract.
