Ayuso leaving has left them some space to seek new opportunities.

Is it any different then Redbull having Remco, Lipowitz and Roglic currently? Pellizzarri looking good.

Ineos just got Onley + Vaquelin on top of their other options at GC.

Lidl has Ayuso, Gee and Skjelmose.

Visma got Piganzoli.

All the big teams are taking the best riders from the smaller teams.
It is different because none of the riders you list are aliens in terms of GC riding, whereas Pogacar obviously is and Seixas most probably will be.

Right now, most of those has showed more than Seixas has done when it comes to GC-riding.

How is it different? UAE are planning for the future and trying to secure great riders... just as much as the others teams are and have been doing. To stay competitive and keep their place as one of the top teams long term it is a must.

Lol, please. You know just as well as I do that Seixas' current level is ahead of most people on that list, and that his potential is greater than any of them. And you also know just as well as I do that if the already-best team signs the best rider of the next generation, it's going to have a bigger impact on both the racing and the viewing experience than literally any signing that's been made in this decade. As said, Ayuso left so they have room to replace with another young great rider. Seixas definitely seems to fit such a role, with seemingly a great future ahead.

Pog and Almeida are both the same age. Almeida contract ends in 2028. So does A. Yates, who is most likely to take on a role that Majka has had rather than competing for GC anymore. Del Toro is a great prospect for the future, already proving himself.

So in a couple years. Pog might still be there, who knows, but maybe not Almeida or Yates. Then what?

To keep up with other teams and still hold their current place in the future. Them trying to sign Seixas seems like a good move for both them and possibly him as well. Will that happen, who knows. I just dont understand why you make it so personal.

One was just tryna speculate and respond to "why would they need him?". Especially, since other teams have strengthened and will likely keep trying to do that. So must UAE do.

However, it seems like by your response it is for way more personal reasons you feel this way then just tryna discuss a possible transfer and cycling. Like we are only discussing some news or a rumor. Whats the issue? Since you went from 0 to 100 in your post to me.

Anyway, UAE will likely be in the market to strengthen for the future. Obviously, another rider who has potential to be at a similar level as Pog would be extremely high on their list. If not, they will try for someone else when they come along. Or another team will take over that top spot, because it is very hard for any rider or team to keep dominating for a long time.

I don't think that it's unreasonable that when a team already scores nearly twice as many wins in a season as the team with the second most wins, and if you look at a results aggregator like CQ has twice as many points as the second placed team for both 2024 AND 2025, then fans might prefer to see new talents offer an alternative to that hegemony, rather than perpetuate it.

Teams obviously want to win, but fans want to be entertained, and when the same team wins every race it isn't very entertaining unless you like or support that team. So it's perfectly reasonable for fans to be disappointed and not want to see a guy like Seixas sign for UAE. We saw the same when it was GC contenders signing up to be part of Armstrong's escort squad in US Postal, and when it was guys like Landa signing for Sky, too.

Don’t think I argued against any of that.

I only started discussing why UAE would potentially be interested in Seixas or any other young talent. Commenting on the rumor. It is not that deep.

It would just be strategy to position themselves against other teams both for the now and the future or see themselves being surpassed, if failing to do so.

Repercussions of such a move materialising and what it could potentially mean, is a whole other conversation.

Ultimately, it will come down to whether Seixas wants to deal with the pressure of riding for a French team as a leading contender for the TDF in the future. He will always have pressure being French but will be less for a non-French team.
