Pretty bad Vuelta for me, didn't expect Contador and Froome to do so well and failed badly in picking sprinters. Glad i've survived and will fight back in Giro 2015 :)

Yes, it got tight after the good start... but all good in the end.

Must take a lot of time to do this.

Sure... Humans always find ideas to kill time. ;)

Thanks again.

You are welcome. Congrats for making another cut... :)

Edit: The GGTG disciplinary committee* held a meeting and came to the decision to lift the 1 point penalty for minessa. This ruling has no influence in the final ranking positions, so I think everybody is ok with that.

(* This one is basically run the same way as the UCI under Verbruggen. I rule, and no one else has a say. ;))

I followed the same trajectory as winner anacona....start near the top and slowly fade further down the standings :p

Thanks for running this again foxxy, once again gave extra intrigue to a race which at times needed it :D

Safe
Great work foxxy, this has been very enjoyable.
From almost pulling off the perfect psychic unique pick to being about relegation for 4 hours after one stage it has had it all

Not sure if I would have qualified in all divisions, certainly would have come down to countback

Well done to all division winners

LOL. A good one... And yes, without the game (we just have to have a look at the RR threads) we´d have had way less interesting stages. My desperate fight against elimination in the TdF kept it thrilling until the final stage. Same with the Vuelta. I mean who cheers for a 20th-something rider than us to get into the T-20? This time it was Arroyo for me, who made a sensational comeback for the division win possible. And it went down the wire again, since I had to depend on Samuel Sanchez to keep his spot, and AC to not finish T-3 in the final ITT.

Yeah, it was a nice roller coaster for you too. From first to bottom and back to being safe.

Thanks both (and all others OFC) BTW. :)

Thanks for running this cool game Foxxy. The fierce battle to avoid being kicked out certainly was nailbiting! My unique (at least for my division) picks Sicard and Nerz for the GC saved my for this round, and I'm really looking forward to continuing with the Giro next year!!!

I feel seriously lucky to get through. My GC picks turned out to be horrible pretty much from the get-go. The last point I got from the stage picks was from Tony Martin's TT win in stage 10. Basically, I was saved by my points from Tour de France. Thanks for adding that rule, Foxxy

Oh yeah, thanks to David Arroyo. No thanks to Maxime Monfort for breaking the 22nd spot habit.

Wow,what a picks vladimir! congrats :)

Also thanks Foxxy for a great coverage! Looking forward to new groups :)

I have 15 out of top-20 correct.. could be the record, no? :D but stage picks sucked big time, so finished right in the middle of the division again.

And thanks foxxy for the great work! :)

Apart from the big guys like Froome and Quintana, Monfort was pretty much the first name I wrote down, no kidding :p you just know he will deliver.

Yeah that rule I like too, but it will hurt later on. 18-Valve and Sceptic already have a 3 point edge on those who sneaked in both times, and between 1.5 and 2 on guys like us (one good GT, one not so pretty).

Welcome... and next time take your time by doing it early. ;)

Indeed great "sleeper" picks by Vlad.

Here too. I think I´ll do the draw coming weekend. I am eager to know who goes to the Coppi "death group", where 18-Valve & Hugo start with 10.5 respectively 10 points.
The other set players:
A; Me & G2F each with 9 points
B; Jspear 9, Mellow 8.5
D; Sceptic 10.5, Search 8.5
BTW it would be great if you don´t get drawn to Anquetil since you go with 9.5 (the highest inherited points among the non-set players)...

Yes 15 T-20 was the best. Good work... Great if you combine it with good stage picks next time. Just kidding.
Monfort is funny. Isn´t he the guy who "always" finishes 16th in GTs and yet none of the 15 who picked him had him there but around that spot.

No, you're right, I will change my tactics on that one :D and yes he does, but he was not entirely confident about his form before the start, also evidenced by poor results leading up to the Vuelta. That and the strong competition only made me pick him as 20th. But I should have never lost faith in him, that's a big mistake on my part :D

cool

Differences are beggining to appear it seems, I really like that rule, then its about consistency :D
It would be good if you invent 4 pots or something like this and winners will pick from that to their group...you know, just an idea :D:D

At Vuelta 2015 players should have around 50% of points inherited from all previous GTs, and 50% expected to be made then. So it´s 50/50 consistency vs just hoping to make the cut every round to prevail in the end (like I do :)) ...

I expect the gaps between the best and worst at the start of the Vuelta 2015 to be max 5/6 points by then. Hard to overcome, but not impossible. Let´s say you have 25 inherited by then, and for example I struggled to get there. I can still hope for a major bust by the top players, while I lay down a awesome (net) 25 point round in the end. OK, Mortand is a better example for such late comeback stunts.

Either way, every half point counts (IOW every fail like picking Tschopp at the wrong time hurts), be it against elimination or for bettering future chances.

About the 4 pots: Ah no, skip that... you just fear to get drawn back to the "death group". :D Let the "god of fortune" have his role too... otherwise the draw would be kind of flat stage like dull.

Edit:
The front page (post #1) is updated with all interesting stuff...
like the date of the new division draw, inherited points for every player, new links to the coming divisions, rankings of eliminated players, and else... :)

Looks like I want to avoid going into division Coppi with those two already on double figure points. I've probably just cursed myself now. At least it's only 1 elimination spot at the Giro.

Yeah, I guess everybody wants to prevent this "death group". It adds more suspense to the draw.
BTW, I also edited post #2. In the Giro there will be two eliminated from each division. But that´s the final change. Honest. I just wanted to add more spice to the competition. Only 1/9 to drop out just didn´t feel right. :)

Just missed out on the division lead. I fuccked myself over with the replacement GC pick for Horner. Decided between Niemiec and Samuel Sanchez, and somehow thought Niemiec would fare better.
One of your very few mistakes, you had great stage picks.;) You will be a tough opponent next time, congrats for a good game.

Thanks. I think it was just luck, though. The Giro will be far harder to predict I think...

Nah... Almost two time division champion, dominance in inherited points together with Hugo & Sceptic... I´d say you are one of the favourites for the overall. ILovecycling even fears to get drawn again in your division. :)
