How about was partially worth while and ended due to corruption? That should be an option.

How about the investigation caused human behavior extremes as the outcome caused one person to devote an inordinate amount of time to trivial pursuits towards opinions or conclusions formed on the basis of incomplete information.

This person should seriously consider getting a life.

How do you feel about the investigation involving Armstrong/USPS that was recently terminated?

You forgot to put the correct choice up there.

"Was worthwhile but ended for honest reasons".

I put worthwhile, meaning in the sense that it's made most followers of cycling much more clued up in terms of what went on in those days. To me at least, the alleged crimes always seemed a bit tenuous* but the morally dodgy stuff and the obvious doping stuff that's come out because of the reporting around the investigation is now very clear for all to see. When was the last time anyone posted here that Armstrong didn't dope? Even his big supporters don't think that any more.

*I don't mean to say illegal stuff didn't happen, just that it looked difficult stuff to nail down to me. Whereas if the Feds had been able to make an anti-doping case, if that was a crime on its own, then it was a very clear conviction.
