The LA Song Thread

Several people have posted links to Youtube songs that seem to capture some aspect of the LA case. I thought we could use a thread devoted to these songs. I don’t follow popular music much, and only have a few suggestions, but I assume others can come up with some better ones:

I’m hurt (to think you lied to me)

You can’t hide your lyin’ eyes

Ballad of Thunder Road (as allegory!)

“Daddy made the whisky, son, he drove the load…”

Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (another allegory)

"From out of the East a stranger came, a law book in his hand, a man
The kind of a man the West would need to tame a troubled land
'cause the point of a syringe was the only law that Liberty understood
When it came to shootin' straight and fast---he was mighty good."

Sheryl Crow's thinly veiled post LA dump outing of Teflon's warped perspective:

Real Gone

Slow down, you're gonna crash
Baby, you were screamin', it's a blast, blast, blast
Look out, you got your blinders on
Everybody's lookin' for a way
To get real gone, real gone
Real gone, real gone, uh

Well, you can say what you want but you can't say it 'round here
'Cause they'll catch you and give you a whippin'
Well, I believe I was right when I said you were wrong
You didn't like the sound of that
Now did ya?

Cherrypicking from Britney Spears' ouevre, I came up with this playlist:

"Criminal"

"Oops!… I Did It Again"

"Circus"

"Toxic"

As you see, when played in the right order, the playlist covers the different stages of Armstrong's success.
