I would bet most of the employees (especially the employees at the top) would have known about Armstrong's dirty side and Livestrong's dubious origins and could have left the foundation if it really mattered to them. So I would not call them unwilling pawns. Considering their jobs now depend on the outcome of 90 minutes of TV, they are definitely part of the masquerade. Fake apologies and tears all around no doubt.

The apology to Livestrong employees was 1 part theatre and 2 parts practice for Oprah.

This was the old Paceline forum, which was for the Postal Service team and later Discovery. One of the administrators went on to work for RBR. The current Paceline forum is the rehosted Serotta forum, and I don't think it has anything to do with the old forum.

When people sign up for forums they often use the same password as the email account they sign up with. Armstrong used that to "hack" into people's email.

If I knew this I would have setup an account with a password as: "lanceyouratotal******bag".

Judging from the comments on articles, most Americans feel betrayed by this a-hole and have no time for him anymore either. He needs to just go away. He's a scumbag. Everyone knows he's doing this only so he can get back into riding against age groupers.

this is 100% on. I just really hope no one in public opinion will forgive lance, this isn't just a liar. he's a rotten maffia type criminal boss who ruined many lifes directly. also he's going to screw the uci now. will he be heared under oath? because he might as well lie here

Everyone here at the clinic can't seem to resist giving him attention, even though it is overwhelmingly negative. We'll see clinic "attendance" goes up immediately after the Oprah piece.

And while I too think he is a fraud (among other things), and nothing he says can ever be trusted, I'm still going to watch (with morbid fascination) his Oprah performance.

Watch the Master at work... Anything he says will be couched in lawyer honed minimum damage phrases.. He'll control the interview and answer only to admit the vaguest possible admissions about his past. Don't think he hasn't rehearsed all this for some time, he had to know one day the SS Armstrong was gonna spring a leak.. After Oprah, his spin machine will go into overdrive, but he'll never get that muck from out under his fingernails..

I am sad to say I've seen people today feeling sorry for this loser. I don't think they realise that this man cheated, and then used that cheating to lie to millions of cancer sufferers around the globe, while earning tens of millions of dollars a year. I read somewhere in the Clinic that all living TdF contenders will be gathered at Champs Elysees this year? If thats right, I think it would be a fantastic gesture to have some sort of event where the likes of Simeoni, Bassons, e.a. gets a big pat on the back, maybe a yellow jersey for decency. This world needs more media coverage of people with well calibrated moral compasses.
