She seems to lack the punch she had last year all season (from her attack on the Muur in omloop to that in the wcrr). Allthough agr should suit her more than lbl, it would surprise me if she does better, or even equally good, as last year.

I don't think she's necessarily that much worse this year, but others are simply better. She was of course below par in De Ronde.

She doesn't look to be in her best climbing form atm. Got dropped on the hills in RVV. Looks like she's carrying some excess weight, so i'm not sure.
It's interesting you think she's carrying extra weight; to me it actually looks like she's gotten too thin (maybe trying to be better for the Tour or something) and perhaps cost herself some of the energy and punch she seemed to have last year? She wouldn't be the first 'power' type rider who's tried to straddle that fence and found it hard to do.. Not a criticism of your take at all, just me seeing it differently I think.

Based on what happened during the season, I was not expecting Kopecky to outsprint Balsamo and Vos but sprinting at the end of a race like Roubaix is bound to surprises.

In the era of Evenepoel and Van Aert, Kopecky is the biggest Belgian rider.

What a season! Strade Bianche, Paris-Roubaix and now prolonging her world title!

Before the race I thought she was second favorite behind Vollering, but the Dutch screwed up their tactics. Kopecky was at her limit and had to rely on tactics, perseverance and the support of Ghekiere. When she was dropped by Dygert I thought her race was over, but somehow she still pulled it off. A close win can taste just as sweet.

Already a legend of one-day races and there is more to come in the future. Golden girl (8 WC golds in total, track included). I can't help feeling that she's too heavy but she surely has a monster engine to compensate for that!
Since she lost some weight a couple years ago she’s skinnier than everybody thinks. If you see her in real life with her cycling jersey you would be as surprised as I was.

Yeah, I've read she dropped like 3.5 kilos at the start of 2023 so she probably was too heavy before. Her face look can be misleading, I realize that. But still, looking the way she's built compared to other girls in the peleton, the difference seems stark.

Also completely different build than one-day specialists like MVP or WVA, who are tall but also very athletic (only muscles, almost no fat). Different gender OFC can be the reason.
